The main advantages were the private cottage and the swimming pool on the property.

The hotel seems to aspire to be more premium than most accommodations in the area—it has a pool, private cottages, and is located away from the crowds. However, the quality we experienced did not fully match these expectations. Many reviews mention outstanding breakfasts, but unfortunately we cannot agree. As Sigiriya was the last stop on our trip around Sri Lanka, we had stayed in many other places with a much better breakfast offer. Here, the portions were very small and the breakfast lacked variety. Considering the central location of Sigiriya near Dambulla, where there are many fruit and vegetable markets, we were surprised that almost no fruit was served. Because of this, many juices from the menu were also unavailable. Due to the hotel’s remote location, we had difficulty getting a tuk-tuk there after sunset. The area is known for wild elephants, so many drivers were unwilling to take rides in that direction at night. On the other hand, the on-site restaurant—despite having a large menu—was not exceptional and was quite expensive. The pool is a plus, but the sun loungers could definitely use repair or replacement as they are not in the best condition. We also used the laundry service, but unfortunately our 5 kg of clothes smelled strongly of dampness afterwards, so we had to wash them again elsewhere. Because of the very poor price-to-quality ratio, I probably would not return.
