The place had been recently fitted out. The bed was comfortable.
The table was very cramped for eating. The wardrobe was too shallow for clothes to hang straight across. But the worst defect was the heating. The main room has underfloor heating, which was warm in patches, and the overall ambient temperature was OK. But we could not get the bathroom heating to work at all. This was especially annoying because we had very wet socks that we really wanted to get dry.

Fantastic stay, very comfortable very clean we just wish we could have stayed longer.
There wasn't anything we didn't like

Beautiful accommodation, set back off the main road with safe on-site parking and access to grounds for taking the dogs out on leads. It is a small but well thought-out space.
The plug-in hob worked really well and we managed to cook a full meal on both days.
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and shower were amazing - lots of space and it is all very nicely done.
Having a full size TV was great (other places on our trip had disappointing screen sizes).
There's a well stocked Co-op just down the road for any supplies that may be needed.
Good access to Wifi.
The combination grill/microwave wasn't very easy to use.
I couldn't see any source of central heating, but there was a thermostat which I didn't manage to fathom.
I expect the instructions for both of the above were online, but I didn't spot the QR code on the info sheet until we were packing to leave.
None of the above spoilt our experience, just mentioning so future guests can read-up in advance.

Tethera was absolutely FABULOUS. The facilities were A1, a great setting, a gorgeous fully contained renovated barn. Great for anyone wanting a romantic time away. The township of Shap is an amazing historical place and worth exploring. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your gorgeous barn.
Our stay was too short.

It was clean cosy and fitted to a high standard. I loved the rustic touches and the shower was amazing! There was a great local shop and lots to do in the surrounding areas. I would definately go back.
Nothing it was great

Comfortable Bed, good TV
Not much around in the town food wise, cooker would be nice instead of an induction stove. Frying pan has had the non stick burnt off therefore causing food to burn very easily when using.

Stunning facilities, this apartment really is top class with quality furnishings throughout. I was so tired and wet through from walking in awful weather for over 20 miles that it brought a tear to my eye when I saw how beautiful and comfortable it was inside the apartment. Excellent shower, TV, equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. Close by to a good general Co-op and right on the Coast to Coast route
The banging and thumping around from upstairs made me feel like I was on a building site until gone 9.30pm which was not ideal as I really wanted to sleep. Not sure if there was building work going on in the building or if the units are poorly soundproofed. Phoned the owners but got no response.
The only drying/heating source to dry wet clothes was the heated towel rail in the bathroom as the whole apartment has underfloor heating as opposed to radiators. Just a point to bear in mind if like me you had endured torrential rain for 8 hours so needed to dry almost everything I owned to continue the next day on the C2C. Required a lot of dedicated turning of items!

Absolutely beautiful location and perfect room that is cosy and cottage like but with stunning modern features. Shower was amazing and the underfloor heating made it so cosy. Kitchenette had everything we needed and we were overawed with the customer service we received during our stay! 10/10 would recommend and we will be booking again!!
Property was 15/20 minute walk to Shap Abbey and other local landmarks and a 15/20 minute drive to Haweswater reservoir and many wainwrights (the wainwright guides are in the property which was a particularly lovely touch)
Thank you for a wonderful weekend we will be back!

Wonderfully comfy beds with an amazing spacious & clean shower
Minor issue but i think the bathroom sink needs unclogging.
It was filling up really quickly when we were washing our faces

Clean and comfortable. Lovely shower.
No welcome pack so had to go the shop to get milk. It said it had a French press for coffee - it didn’t. Room a lot smaller than picture.

This apartment is BEAUTIFUL. Ultra modern, warm and tastefully decorated. It is immaculately done. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay here. It was amazing. I would highly recommend this accommodation. The shower is amazing - super powerful - didn’t want to come out!
There is a small parade of shops nearby - one of which is a coop and it has a free cashpoint.
The points below on what I didn’t like are minor niggles and I wouldn’t let this stop you from booking because it is without a doubt still worth it!
The host is also wonderful aswell and was also very helpful to accommodate us. Really appreciated it!
There is a microwave but no oven
There was some banging noises that went on until quite late at night and in the morning. Not sure what it was.
The mirror in the bathroom is quite high up for short people and there is no point in the bathroom for the hairdryer.
The overhead bed lights are quite bright and would be better on the sides of the bed rather than over the top

Was only there for the one night travelling home to the Midlands from Scotland and I believe I found a little gem of a place, all the mod cons to be able to either cater for yourself or make use of the nearby pubs ans restaurants. It is definately a place I would highly recommend and a place I hope to visit again in the future and explore more of the local area.
Only very minor downsides were, unable to understand how to operate the microwave properly but I am sure I would have been able to master it given a bit more time also being unable to "plug" the bathroom sink for having a "wet shave" but I did manage to improvise

Lovely comfy bed. Great location. Good shower. Useful kitchenette
No table and chairs for eating. No point in being self catering if you have no where to sit to eat your food. Slip mat needed in shower. No curtains over bathroom and kitchette window, not great when getting dressed.
6.0 / 10.0
Good location, comfortable & had most of what I needed.
Two windows had no blinds, and no black out lining on glass door curtain. Upstairs noise came through very loudly. Really disturbed my evening.
8.0 / 10.0
Very nice studio with good en-suite bathroom in a very good location. This is a barn conversion just off the main street of Shap, a village with a co-op shop near the accommodation and a chippy equally close by. The studio is on the ground floor and has parking outside the door.
No curtain or blind in the bathroom window - I know it isn't exactly a busy pavement out there but it made me feel unsafe.
No where to sit and eat - property would benefit from a little table and chairs - maybe folding.
More detail is needed about the what is in the kitchen - instead of just saying 'kitchenette' the listing should say 'fridge with freezer compartment', single ring induction hob etc. This would be very helpful for planning any meals.
Lack of a written folder of instructions - not everyone has a smart phone and the digital version is tedious to use. Also it isn't property specific, I was expecting a dishwasher as a result.

Being unsure of my arrival time, the key safe was a real bonus. I booked Tethera for an overnight stay on a motorcycle trip up to Scotland and found the accommodation absolutely outstanding. May return again as a couple to use as a base for visiting the Lakes as having a kitchen to use means we can eat in if we wish. Thank you so much! :)
Sorry but I liked everything about it!

Clean and comfortable. Very modern
Walk in shower was great.
Bed was comfortable. Smart tv was a good addition. All the kitchen facilities you need are there.
If you have dogs would recommend taking plenty of towels and beds as not allowed on furniture. Nowhere to let dogs have a good run around in the area.
An earlier check in would of been better
