It was comfortable, lots of kitchen utensils and things available to use which was nice. In a nice little area with a pub round the corner. Very clean, comfortable and well looked after property.
It would have been nice to have a few blankets available for the evening and there wasn’t any WiFi. The area was lovely but a lot of the places we went for walks were about an hours drive away.

Very well appointed and equipped. Located in a quiet position on edge of Shap. Handy for the Coop the only shop for miles . Surrounded by beautiful countryside with good walking & cycling from the door.
We missed not having a cafetiere and suspect it must have been broken & not replaced. Taylors Coffee Bags saved the day!

Comfy bed and sofas. Outdoor space.
No WiFi would not have booked if realised. Poor glassware. Bathroom wet room doesn’t drain off well.

Nice quiet area if you want to visit local areas you have to drive. The fire was cosy and the bed was comfortable , all in all a very quiet village.
The shower room was nice and modern however it had no ventillation and once the shower was used the whole room and floor stayed wet and we had to put footwear on to then use it again . Also the cottage is pet friendly but the front yard is full of nails (maybe from roof repair ?) Not just a few but loads and this was dangerous for our dogs paws. Outside when we arrived were black bags full of someone elses rubbish and no recycling bags were left in the property for us to use. A welcome pack or even milk would have been a nice gesture.

Cute little cottage with everything you could need for your stay.
Parking was right out the back door
Everything was clean.
Handy location. 2 lively pubs close by and a village shop.
25ish miles to keswick or windermere.
Water pressure in shower was adequate, not ideal for long thick hair.
I thought the back 'yard/garden' was enclosed for the dog. But it wasn't unfortunately which was quite restricting.
Bed was quite hard but that's preference.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and quiet, even though the main road isn't far from it you couldn't hear the passing traffic, which is always a bonus!
It had all the basic things you need for a nice time away. The bed was very comfortable and the neighbours were quiet. A very nice place to stay.
Unfortunately we found the bathroom to be on the small side. The layout is fine but if anyone was to have an accident in there, it would be very difficult to get them out unless they were right in the corner of the shower as it is a very small room.

Kidsty Cottage was ideally located for our needs, close to the motorway so we could easily reach the north and south Lakes. Our week was during the hot spell and the house with it's thick stone walls provided a welcome cool haven. From previous reviews we expected the WiFi to be, at best, intermittent. It was actually fine for our needs in the sitting room. The local shops provided everything we needed.
Having read previous reviews, we brought our own cafetiere. We were warned about the steep and narrow staircase and only one of us fell once. I should have put the light on. When we arrived, there was an unpleasant smell in the stairwell. Fear?

It's nice to have found a place where we could stay with our dog. The place was fairly nice.
The wifi router is at a neighbour's house or a pub, so we are clearly piggybacking on someone else's wifi. That also meant the signal was very weak and only worked in the lounge by the window. Additionally, other people have commented that a few things would really improve the place (hairdryer, coffee table, tray, caffetiere) but the owner has not added these things. The TV feels precariously balanced on a shelf at a height. Personally, I don't like feather pillows (too squishy) but perhaps others do.

Duvet was very warm . Could have done with a lighter weight but of course weather was exceptionally hot for Cumbria.

Clean, tidy, peaceful location, car parking space, easy to get out into the Lakes.
The WiFi needs sorting out.

The cottage was clean and comfortable. The lock box made it easy to arrive at our own pace. The village had the essentials as a base to access the lakes, including a very friendly local pub (The Kings Arms).
The property had only basic facilities included. Previous guests (more than a year ago) had made suggestions of extra things that would have been helpful e.g. oven gloves, hairdryer, dish drainer etc., but these hadn’t been actioned. Also, the property is falsely advertising having WiFi, which it does not. There is no router in the property. The host informed us the router is shared with the neighbour. Lake District WiFi + stone walls = no WiFi. When you’re on holiday, this isn’t a problem, but this should not be listed as a facility of the property. The inner porch door also didn’t shut or lock because the lock is stuck. This has been commented on by a previous guest, but again, hadn’t been actioned. This is a problem for safety & warmth.
