When the hot water stopped working we made one phone call in the morning, and when we came back in the evening we had hot water again, no lost time from holiday and no difficulty. Nice big living room with dining table, and we had everything we needed in the house. Friendly neighbours. Shap was a lovely place to stay, and this was a good location there.
No wifi, which we did know, but still would have been useful. Only one towel left out for us, so had to go looking to find another in a cupboard. Low water pressure and a water pump that sometimes took a while to start up so a bit of a wait for anything to come out of the taps. We knew ahead of our visit about the small kitchen and bathroom and the steep stairs, which were ok for us, but would be difficult for people with limited mobility. There was no drying rack for the washing up, although the extra bowel protected the wooden work top from water damage, it didn't work well as a way to stack dishes to dry. Everything was good, and not issues, but there was space here to hint at a few minor things to make it even better.

Lovely cosy cottage and we really enjoyed our stay. Had an issue with the immersion heater not working but this was fixed the same day after we reported it in the morning which was excellent service. We were there during the hottest week in June but because this is an old property with very thick walls the lounge remained nice and cool which gave us some respite from the heat.
Really would benefit from WiFi and a draining rack for the kitchen

Well appointed, good kitchen, living room and dining area. Woodburner.
Towels were not left in the property, I had to look around and found some in a cupboard. Stairs very steep, including a turn. Shower room is smart and adequate but very small.

Easy to find, comfortable bed, warm shower
I'm sorry to say but the accommodation was cold. We popped the heaters on, but it still felt cold in the air. We chose this accomodation as our fifth night on our Coast 2 Coast based on it having a washing machine (which it did). However, there was nowhere to dry the small stuff (our walking socks, underwear etc). An airer would be a good investment
