Absolutely lovely, little gem in the countryside. Would definitely recommend

Was perfect distance from Penrith town whilst still being very much in the countryside. We drove to some amazing places and they were all very accessible from the location. Hosts were amazing and super helpful.

Cosy little hideway ⭐️

Amazing little place, easy to find, clean and cosy accommodation and really welcoming hosts. Gavin and Wendy left me a bottle of wine and a birthday card which was a lovely personal touch too. Wholeheartedly recommended and will definitely book again as its perfect for a solo getaway.

Would be great if the TV had Netflix access but had a great selection of dvds anyway! Just me been picky!

The location was stunning, quiet and peaceful. Near some woods and beautiful fields. The property was well equipped and the perfect example of a cozy home - it had everything we needed and everything was obviously built with intention. The kitchen was lovely (also well equipped with a variety of pots, pans, cutlery, plates, mugs, etc.) - we even had welcome tea, biscuits & rosé. It was clean and tidy too.

This is a very minimal point, and it obviously doesn't affect our current rating :) Maybe a little function to be able to close the gap to the mezzanine during the night, we wanted to have our dog and his bed at the top with us but was scared he'd jump out. He wasn't happy with us being both upstairs, so one of us slept on the sofa.

lovely, peaceful get away

absolutely lovely hosts and a beautiful location. the little house was so warm and cosy with the underfloor heating and log burner. we even got a bottle of wine and biscuits upon arrival. it’s such a quiet, peaceful area. i would definitely recommend. it’s easy enough to drive into the lakes and there are a few pubs just a short drive away. the bed is super comfortable too.

A great little getaway for a lady and her dog!

It was small but very well proportioned and in a fantastic location. The kitchen had all that you need and the little log burner made the place very homely. It was so quiet, I was pleasantly surprised that the road there was easygoing, and even though it was mid winter there was still a lot of wildlife. The layout also made it easy to keep clean with the dog who adored the underfloor heating. The welcome was also fantastic.

A lovely peaceful stay away from the rat race

Everything, it is very remote just what we wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle. Nearest shops are in Penrith but we brought Everything with us so not a problem for us. Gavin is on hand for local info or any problems not that we had any. Lovely forest walk just up the road through the wooden gate did a 6 mile walk through there up to Centre Parcs still nice and peaceful. We stayed in the Weigh office lovely little house had all mod cons everything was thought of for an enjoyable stay. We brought our dog he really enjoyed it looking at the rabbits, deer and Robins. We will definitely be back.

It’s gorgeous. Quaint, idyllic & peaceful.

It’s gorgeous. Quaint, idyllic & peaceful. It’s comfy cosy, has everything you need. I travelled with my 3 year old to stay here. First arrived and checked in easily as an email was sent prior with all the information- everything was lovely and clean, all kitchen equipment you could need including cleaning products, towels etc. Wendy came to see us after we arrived & told us where to find her if we needed anything as she’d likely have anything we’d forgotten or might run out off. Private patio was lovely, we had a BBQ the first night. Stunning views- particularly enjoyed looking out with a cup of tea in the decking! Plenty of space for my 3 year old to play safely too. Inside was so cosy & comfy. Perfect to get comfy in front of the fire. There was a selection of DVDs for us to watch - we popped out to get some family films from the charity shops & left them there to add to collection- to entertain my daughter, but the WiFi is brilliant to watch shows on your own devices ect. Location wise we were about 10-15 mins from the centre of Penrith with supermarkets, restaurants and the castle. It was an easy drive. We were also about 30mins ish to Keswick & 1hr from Windermere/Ambleside/Hawkeshead. All easily accessible. We had a wonderful holiday and coming home from a busy day to this gorgeous place to relax really made it. Watching the sunset & the horses graze was lovely. Waking up in the morning to open the window by the bed to spot the bunnies too. And unforgettable experience!

Great little place with everything you need

A really lovely little place to stay. The location is really good to get out and about to explore and the owners are really friendly and put some really lovely touches. There was everything we needed, towels for the dogs, DVDs supplied for the DVD player, all kitchen facilities that are needed and they’ve really made good use of the space.

Nothing to not like, the only things I would note is that the decking area isn’t fully enclosed and so something to be mindful of if bringing dogs. The property also isn’t secluded so you will have people around for the horses and staying in the other properties or campsite on the land.

Wonderful place to stay.

Everything!! When you pull up you are first aware of how small it looks from the outside but actually it has everything you need and more for a relaxing stay! The bed up the ladder looks daunting at first but was easy to get up and down and its very comfy! The cows outside in the field were a bonus too.

Cute lodge with amazing hosts

Cute little lodge with lovely views around and the hosts were amazing. We even experienced a day with no power due to weather and trees knocking out power lines but the hosts were ready with everything we could possible need, wood for the fire to keep warm, hot water in flasks and an alternative place to cook.

A really lovely place to stay!

We had an amazing couple of days in the Weigh Office! The location is gorgeous and the property is very warm and cosy for a couple. It’s also extremely well equipped and has a lovely kitchen with lots of cupboards for food storage.

There’s nothing to dislike. The property is exactly as described.

It was a small quaint building in a lovely rural location.The views were outstanding.

The decking on the photos looked amazing however the reality was it needed refreshing and sweeping .There was an old BBQ that had been left to rust and was full of water. Inside the kitchen worktop was worn and the shower needed renewing.It was clearly a building that has history but there were no signs of that in the interior.

Hosts were very helpful and knowlegeable of the area, the area itself was wonderful and the wildlife was fabulous Red squirrels everywhere. Would highly recommend to anyone.

The underfloor heating was only just enough, although there is also a wood burner which I didn't have chance to use. But this was only minor.

Exceptional

Everything to like, small and cosy, infact too warm for us personally with the log burner on( should have realised this, our mistake) but was lovely with it being so cold outside. Everything you need, beautiful location, walks in the forest a minute walk away. Bed really comfy. Stars in night sky fantastic with it being so dark outside. Lovely touch with the bottle of wine and scrummy biscuits. Would definitely try the other accommodation they have if the opportunity arose.

Nothing to dislike. Do yourself a favour and book this lovenly restored Weigh Office.
