The cottage had a cozy feel with modern amenities such as Hive heating, Freesat and smart TV yet classic appearance. The property has a full modern bathroom (shower and bath) as well as a complete kitchen with a Nespresso machine. The beds and pillows were comfortable. As an added bonus, the house has a little private backyard overlooking sheep pastures. Beth was fast to respond to our requests on WhatsApp
The property was a challenge to find on the first day as neither Maps or Waze could locate it accurately based on the address given.
There were some cleanness issues such as used chewing gum left on a dinning chair and bird dunk covered patio table. These were unpleasant since Beth reassured that the house was just cleaned and the patio table is always hidden when not in use to avoid birds.
We felt that the kitchen and bathroom both had a shortage of hooks. The bathroom had 1 hook and 2 rails while the kitchen had no hooks at all. Considering the cottage sleeps 4 this is simply not enough for all hand, tea and bath towels to hang.
The biggest surprise of all was the absence of any toiletries such as shower gel or shampoo. Only hand soap was available. For 1-2 days this may be OK. However, for a longer stay this is not. So we had to buy our own and leave behind for the next guests.
Also, be mindful of the heating "rule" where, if you stay for multiple days and leave the house during the day, the heating must be turned down to 16°. On a warm week last this, it is fine, but in colder months the house will get cold and it takes a while to warm it up. We experienced it on the day we arrived
