ELM HOUSE COTTAGE - 2 Bed Cottage in High Hesket on the edge of the Lake District, Cumbria

Good location to travel into the Lake District

No local bar or shop but was not a problem to find one few miles away

Great location for north lakes ,high stand and fell in love with Armathwaite. Beautiful bedrooms and a huge superking bed.. Essential little cottage garden which was perfect for us and 2 dogs in the hot weather.Evertwhere was tastefully decorated and quality furniture. Great to have an allocated parking space ..all in all a very relaxing stay and we will be returning..we've already recommended this place to family and friends.Thank you for a fabulous start to our road trip 😊 xx

Could have done with some comfortable garden chairs as we spent most of our time outside and the 2 iron ones were very uncomfortable plus when our 2 guests arrived there was nowhere for them to sit.The cutlery was a little sparse and no serrated knives for meat..A 4 slice toaster would have also been a benefit and a few matching glasses for birthday dining and drinks.

The location was perfect for exploring. Very quiet!!

The location was good and the property was modern and nice and quiet.

The property was very untidy outside the front door. Lots of weeds. It Needs a thorough tidying up. The inside of the property looked like it needed a hoover running round. The carpets weren’t very clean particularly in the smaller bedroom. There were missing lampshades on some of the lights. the hot water did not work in the kitchen sink or the bathroom sink. This was reported on day one of our stay and nothing was done about it despite us being there for three nights. The tv did not work as the batteries in the controller were flat. The property has the potential to be really lovely but it doesn’t look like anyone is keeping on top of it. It’s a shame because there are lots of positives about the cottage which are being spoiled by the basics not being done properly.
