Erster Eindruck: Wunderbare Lage. Die Anfahrt ist etwas sportlich, bei gutem Wetter auch mit einem normalem Fahrzeug möglich. Wenn das Wetter schlechter ist, ist ein Allradantrieb notwendig. Zweiter Eindruck: Ein sehr netter Vermieter. Wir hatten die kleine Wohnung im Untergeschoß. Dort gibt es eine sehr schöne Terrasse mit Blick auf das Tal und die umliegenden Berge. Die Wohnung ist sauber. Eine Küche, die wir uns mit einem Paar aus England geteilt haben, ist gut ausestattet. Kaffee war da.

Krásné místo, apartmán čistý, prostorný a vybavený. Terasa s výhledem top. Majitel je úžasný, ochotný, nápomocný a moc milý.

At Canyon View Lodge, we met Ilija so bright, Who made our two-night stay feel just right. With a smile and good cheer, He made us feel welcome and near, And Matka’s magic sparkled day and night! • A beautiful escape, a wonderful host, and two unforgettable nights in the heart of Matka Canyon, North Macedonia. Staying at Canyon View Lodge with my husband (in room 3, the triple room with a common kitchen), felt like stepping away from the ordinary and into a little world of peace, beauty, and breathtaking nature. Waking to the dramatic embrace of Matka Canyon, with its rugged cliffs, deep green waters, and quiet mountain air, was something we will carry with us long after leaving. There was a wonderful feeling of being surrounded by nature, yet welcomed into a place that felt warm and personal. And then there was Ilija, our host, whose kindness added something truly special to our stay. He was warm, attentive, generous, and genuinely welcoming. Some hosts simply provide a place to sleep; Ilija made us feel that we were truly his guests, or even family! His hospitality had an effortless warmth that made our two nights all the more memorable. We travel full time, for 9 years now, and the added touches at Canyon View Lodge were incredible. Besides a comfortable room and nice bathroom, there was a fully stocked kitchen, yoga mat, dry bags for water sports, hiking sticks, hiking maps, and even toiletries in case you forgot anything. Plus a laundry room with detergent included! Ilija met up with us before our departure and gifted us with a special local herbal tea and coffee. This extra touch of kindness was very heartwarming! There are places you visit, and there are places that become memories. Canyon View Lodge was the latter for us. We left with the canyon still in our hearts—the mountains standing tall, the water quietly winding below, and the kindness of Ilija making our stay feel like a little gift.
