Inviting 3-Bedroom Lodge in Ashton Under Hill

The location was quiet and the lodges are located with a small campsite. Outdoor games like giant chess, crazy golf, outdoor seating areas and firepits were available. The 3 bedroomed wooden lodge was spacious; worth noting that although it is soundproofed from the outside world, opening bedroom/bathroom doors is quite noisy as one would expect with a wooden build. Noted for those with small children/babies. Air con is in the living area only; not the bedrooms. Kitchen facilities are good and entire layout/build is very ergonomic and useful. Comfy sofas. Check the temp of the hot tub when you arrive, ours was 40degC and too hot to use when we chose to use it. Decent shower water pressure. Thoughful items available like a clothes horse. Good parking right beside the cabin. Fitted insect screens on bedroom and bathroom windows. Although there's only one bin provided in the kitchen, there is a council communal recycling bin provided at the entrance to the site, so you can separate and recycle during your stay - albeit into a bin/carrier bag.

Our lodge was the furthest one on entering and although there is nothing that will correct nature noise, we were woken early every morning by pigeons, either cooing in the tree right beside it or scurrying around on the roof. Like I said, nothing that can be 'fixed' but may be an issue for some. The bathroom only has a cloakroom size sink which was awkward for face washing/shaving. Personally I'd have given up the bath that was too narrow for the shower curtain, for a shower cubicle and put in a full size sink. The email instructions on check-out time and 'curfew' time to use the hot tub or designated 'quiet time' were different to the printed literature in the lodge. No curtain/blind for privacy on the kitchen window. Rather tired mattresses which I personally would have considered ready for retirement.

We liked the lovely touch of the Christmas Tree, the place was clean & tidy & setting is beautiful 😍

Maybe a bigger modern hot tub but the one you have is nice enough

Very clean and comfortable lodge. The hot tub was a nice addition, although it smelled a bit too chemically. A good location, tucked away and good for exploring the local area.

There was a bit of noise from the nearby road, which you can hear when outside using the hot tub. The kitchen could do with a few more items such as small tumblers and champagne flutes. The bedrooms also need some mirrors.
