We thoroughly enjoyed using the cottage but think it was slightly overpriced!

The location was excellent with a 3-400m walk to the village centre. The property was well equipped and very functional and we enjoyed the evenings playing scrabble!!

With 2 cars both couldn’t be parked in front of the garage so one was parked in front of the wooden fence about 2-3m away from the private no parking sign, but to park elsewhere and not interfere with the other cars is not possible. A piece of paper with no parking written on it was on our car window after the third night. The parking taliban were obviously coveting the empty spaces to feed the horse! The en-suite shower had some mould and the main bathroom also needs a expel vent fan.

Expensive and dirty. This property needs a deep clean and repair.

Location is excellent

House hadn't been cleaned. Dirty work tops, plates, cutlery. Finger smears over mirrors and TV screen. Mould around sinks and in shower cubicles. 'Temporary' repair to kitchen tap. Generally unclean, which is not acceptable given current health pandemic. Also, there was a gardener who required access to the property during our stay, which was not flagged prior. I find it uncomfortable allowing entry to a stranger, during a stay, particularly during the COVID crisis. I don't understand why he couldn't attend to the property when it was empty or on handover day!? Very odd and, again, unacceptable. I messaged Sykes during my stay, to flag these issues, but they didn't have decency to reply Definitely not worth the money, which was a lot (£900 a week). Very disappointed.
