Penthouse Apartments in Heraklion Center

The flat’s location is perfect. The bus stop for the No. 1 bus line, which runs from the airport into the city, is about a 4-minute walk from the flat. The stop is called Agiou Mina, and is situated in front of the famous cathedral, Agios Minas. From here, bus routes 01, 05, 07, 14, 20, 23 and 92 run. You can take the 01 to the airport and Ammoudara Beach, and the 07 to Karteros Beach. Everything is within walking distance. Not far from the flat, on one of the side streets, there is a supermarket. The street leading down to the seafront and the fortress is also within walking distance, as is the market street. There are several restaurants nearby. There’s also a luggage storage facility on the parallel street. The flat is spacious and fully equipped, and the terrace is huge. It’s really lovely to sit outside and admire the wonderful panoramic view. The host, Eleni, is very helpful; she assists with everything and keeps you informed about everything. She even took the trouble to point out that 15 August is a public holiday in Greece and everything is closed. I’d recommend this flat to everyone! This was our second stay here, and if I go to Heraklion again, this is the only place I’ll choose!

We some issues which Eleni (the owner) was quick to respond to.

Eleni apartment large and well-furnished. It is on the edge of the old centre, so everything is reachable on foot, but there isn't a great deal of noise from the street. The bus stop to the airport is almost infront - cost €1.30, takes about 30 minutes, buses run every 10 minutes during the day. We did cooking some and the kitchen had everything that we needed. There's also a capsule coffee machine, microwave and washing machine. The main bedroom has a large comfortable double bed with air-conditioning. The apartment is on the 4th floor, with a lift, and has a large terrace overlooking Heraklion towards the sea. We enjoyed sitting there in the mornings and late evenings. The bathroom was excellent, with good water pressure in the shower: shampoo and body-wash provided. Everything was very clean and Eleni was always contactable and helpful. This is one of the best holiday apartments we have stayed in and l felt that it good value for what we paid. We would stay here again, if we came back.

There was fruit juice and water provided in the fridge which was so appreciated on our arrival. Coffee and tea facilities were provided. It was very clean with all kitchen facilities and a lovely hot shower. The rooftop was just superb and we enjoyed our mornings and evenings there overlooking the spectacular towers of St Minas cathedral and parts of the city. The apartment was central to everything, including a mini mart and many shops and cafés.

Our only small complaint was that the beds weren’t made up, and as we arrived exhausted from our travels, it was a slight disappointment. Eleni was quick to respond to any of our queries however, so on the grander scheme of things, this is a minor issue.
