Comfortable & practical stay for short visits

Overall upkeep of the hotel, room & facilities. Very well maintained. Everything is designed around practicality and comfort. The breakfast was fabulous and had plenty of options for vegetarians too. The location has good connectivity with tram, a Bahn and bus options all within a walking distance of around 10minutes.

I booked a single room but got a room with 4 bunk beds which gave me the impression that I’ll be sharing, but the staff clarified that some rooms in that configuration are sometimes allocated to single bookings. This was a little confusing, but overall I enjoyed the stay. Also, I paid over 100€ per night for a single occupancy room which seemed a bit pricey for a budget hotel.

Cooling in Keulen

I was sick with a bad cold and travel fatigue the entire 2 days. When I arrived at 10.30pm the only bunkbed left was upper, and I was not able to climb up. The staff worker took time to re-allocate me to an unused empty dorm which he then made 'all female' because I had originally been in a female dorm. 🩷 There was a box in the kitchen with 'free' food people left for use up. The bunkbed had fantastic headroom so it was impossible to bang one's head 🙂 The duvet was lovely and warm and the shower was delicious. There was a wellstocked supermarket 5 minute walk from the hotel. Also a Lidl about 10minutes walk.

The hotel was 3km from the city centre. The walk from local train station at 10pm was isolated and dark. The pillow was too soft. I had to put my towel underneath to lend support.

Great except for the location.

Our room was clean, hot and comfortable. The staff was also very polite and helpful.

The location might be a bit tricky as it is 20 minutes walking distance from the Müngersdorf Technologiepark S-Bahn station. But you can use the bus 140 to get to the station as well. That takes about 5 minutes.

Suitable stay for us

Hospitable staff, good location with own car, free parking, very good breakfast, free wifi and reasonable price. The room had 6 beds and the size of the room for our family with 2 adults and 3 kids was perfect but it would not be very suitable for 6 adults.

Minimum facilities in rooms, for example no sofa, only a couple of stools, no tooth brush/paste, no slippers and no fridge. The position for TV was not good and there is no sitting space to watch TV while the size of bathroom was very large and there was a separate toilet which seemed unnecessary. We stayed only one night and we did not need such facilities but for longer stays, these lack of facilities maybe annoying.

Lovely 1 night comfy stay.

The cleanliness, the helpful friendly staff, size of rooms and comfy bed. Very useful location and good car parking availability. Price was good and it was super quiet at night. The shared kitchen was useful, clean and well stocked with cutlery etc.

Offered a games room but was only a corner in the main reception area where some of the games were for outdoors in a square outside a supermarket. Having to pay for the car park. The room we stayed in had a disability call button right on the bed headboard area which we managed to push accidently whilst sleeping (we think - red call string in the bathroom too but no one admitted to pulling that by mistake either!). Woke to a red light flashing in the room but no staff came until I went downstairs at 3am to ask them how to turn it off.

I would stay again, but no more that one or two nights.

Breakfast was very good. Friendly and helpful staff. This feels like a boutique hotel and is very modern. The room was small, but adequate. I wouldn't use it for more than a few days.

On the evening of my arrival the reception staff advised me that I could buy pizza at the bar until midnight. At 10:30 I ordered my pizza and the barman then rolled his eyes and gave a heavy sigh (suggesting to me that this was a struggle for him). I asked if there was a problem. He replied "Don't worry, I will tell you if there is a problem". I didn't like his attitude, however, the pizza was good. The next day, when I had finished my breakfast, I exited the eating are using a door to the plaza outside of the building. The staff were not happy because, apparently it was an emergency exit. How could I have known? There were no signs on the door to suggest it was an emergency exit!!

We stayed at MEININGER Hotel Köln West for 4 nights and had a great experience. The location is fantastic – it’s in a quiet and safe neighborhood, yet it’s easy to travel to the Koln Dom and other attractions. The hotel offers great value, and it’s perfect for a family with young adults. This wasn’t our first time staying in a MEININGER hotel, and we’ve always been satisfied with the experience.

Pennicle of Flawless Excellence

I have been an avid world traveler for years and this is unquestionably the most enjoyable stay in any accommodation I have ever experienced. The staff is incredibly kind, courteous, and helpful; including many, if not all, multilingual members. Everything is outstanding, safe, and clean. There is no aspect of my stay that could have been improved or desired to be different. Thank you for the absolutely perfect experience :)

There is not a single flaw in any facet of this gem. This hotel experience is my new standard of excellence against which all future accommodations will be compared. I will, without a doubt, return without hesitation.

Nice hostel, a bit far from centre.

The rooms are great. Clean, comfy beds with sheets and towel provided. Bunk beds are sort of enclosed, so felt more private than a standard bunk bed. I had roommates travelling for business so it was all very civilised. Lockers in room (you need your own lock, which you are not told!). The room even had a TV. Very hotel like.

"Wet room" bathroom so after showers the whole floor was wet. It was a bit of a walk to public transport (and there's no ticket machine at that tram stop).

Great new place in Koln.

New and stylish place. Everything you need in a room was there, except a small fridge, that would be nice. Staff is really friendly and informative. Everything was spotlessly clean.

Location is not that great. Its around 10-15 min walk from the metro station. Although we booked a twin room, the bed were put together just next to each other so it was essentially a king sized bed.

Overall i had very nice stay and I enjoyed the comfort during my sleep and stay.

It was clean though need to request for everyday cleaning., good security system for the guest exclusive entrance.,nice and friendly staff.

No complimentary items like atleast bottled water or tea especially on this cold winter weather, a bit far from the city centrum., and just a suggestion for a intercom telephone for emergency purposes.

Uncleaned Room- Dirty Bed, No Soap

Can’t think of anything I liked. The things that weren’t screwed up were standard.

They were two hours delayed in getting me a room despite me booking a month before hand AND them having a set check in time. All they could do was very passive aggressively shrug and give me a free coffee coupon in their bar area. Then when I get my room it’s obvious it hasn’t been cleaned. Hair and food crumbs were in the bed, all they’d done was fluff the pillows and fold a duvet to cover the mess. The hand soap bottle was completely empty and the shampoo/body wash was about 25% full. Needless to say I’ll never stay at Meininger again, even if their other locations get good reviews.

Tam bir Fiyat/Fayda oteliydi. konaklamadan son derece memnun kaldık. Resepsiyondaki görevli arkadaş birçok konuda bize yardımcı oldu, özellikle erken gelmemize rağmen ücret almadan bize odanın anahtarını teslim etti. Otelin etrafında uygun yerlere aracı park ettik ve park sorunumuz olmadı. Kahvaltı gayet iyi ve çeşitli. Otelin olduğu komplekste büyük bir market var.

Der schnelle Check In Ablauf durch das Personal; die Möglichkeit sich in der Gemeinschaftsküche am Abend in der Microwelle Speisen warm zu machen u. dort zu essen; die Einkaufsmöglichkeit in einem Supermarktes in der Nähe

Es gab etwas Probleme bei der ersten Ausfahrt aus der Tiefgarage, wurde aber mit Hilfe des Personals relativ schnell gelöst.

Einfach, Schlicht, Modern und in einer ruhigen Gegend. Gemeinsame Küche zum Kochen. Rewe und Parkhaus, Parkmöglichkeiten direkte nähe gleich daneben.

Wenig, günstige Möbel und Matratzen. Bissl schmuddelig allgemein, zwar sauber aber nicht ganz sauber.

Ich habe mich sehr willkommen gefühlt.

Gute Preis-Leistung, freundliches Personal, alles sehr unkompliziert. Das Plakat am Eingang "step in and be yourself" fand ich sehr gut und wichtig. Durch die gemütliche Atmosphäre (Brettspielen, Lichter...) habe ich mich sofort wohl gefühlt.

Раніше зупинялась вже в цій сітці готелів в Амстердамі, тому розуміла, що мене може очікувати. Загалом - все що описано - було в номері. Не зовсім зручно оформлена вана кімната - просто шторка і дірка в полу... Тобто, якщо прийняв душ - то ммайже вся кімната мокра, і треба бути обережним, щоб не послизнутись. Сніданок - дуже простий, помідор, огірок, перчик, омлет, сосиска, бобові, випічка 2х видів, фрукти я не бачила, юпі, чай/кава. Є підземний паркінг, але потім ще треба розібратись як з нього вийти)) Також, класно що поряд є супермаркет невеличкий Реве - в ньому також є можливість придбати готові страви (салат, бургер,...). Є можливість оплатити пізнє виселення з номеру. Поряд є станція електрички, а в інший бік - трамвай, який їде в центр. Недалеко є великий парк, з водоймами та невеличким зоопарком.

Дуже багато школярів, тому досить шумно, часто вони збираються просто в коридорах і доволі гучно там себе поводять. Ліфт працює тільки з карткою. Оформлення душу.

Die Lage war der Erwartung entsprechend, und das Zimmer bis zum Morgen angenehm ruhig. Der Eingangsbereich ist freundlich und einladend gestaltet.

das Frühstück war von schlechter Qualität, allenfalls Jugendherbergsniveau. Das Zimmer waren schlecht gereinigt, der Boden unsauber, überall Haare auch in den Betten. Die Raumluft entsprechend miefig.
