Perfect location to explore Dubrovnik. Room was very confortable and clean. Super nice and flexible host.
The room is a bit noisy due to the location but nothing that bothered our rest. The exclusive outside WC/shower was ok also.

Location! Proximity to everything we wanted to see, was incredible. Right next to the Cathedral and the Rector’s Palace, just opposite the entrance to the harbour, near lots of lovely cafes and bars etc. In an historic building, with great views of the street. Clean and comfortable for our family of 4.

I had an incredible experience staying at The Bassegli - Gozze Palace. The property itself is steeped in history, the building once hosted the Austrian Emperor in the 1800s, yet it’s been beautifully restored with every modern comfort imaginable. You can truly feel the heritage in the architecture and stonework, but the interiors are luxurious, calm, and spotlessly clean.
The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, steps away from the city walls, cafés, and the Adriatic views. Despite being so central, it’s peaceful and feels like a hidden sanctuary amidst the bustle.
A special mention to Dominik, who was one of the most responsive and helpful hosts I’ve ever met. From quick replies to travel advice and helping with logistics, he made my stay seamless. When you combine a historic property, exceptional service, and unbeatable location, you get a truly special experience, and this was exactly that.
Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Dubrovnik, whether for history, luxury, or pure relaxation, this stay covers it all.

The location was perfect and other people we spoke to were jealous of where we were staying as it couldn't get better! Also the host was great and really helped us out by storing our luggage on the last day, would recommend this place to anyone.

A bright airy accommodation in the Center of the city
The 2nd room was small by having a large double bed. Maybe 2 single beds would be better.

Loved it all but be prepared for lots of stairs.

The absolute standout feature of this property is its location — you simply couldn’t ask for better. It’s right in the heart of the old town, tucked among beautiful historic streets, and everything is within easy walking distance — restaurants, shops, and all the main sights. The staff were also super friendly and helpful, always happy to answer questions or offer suggestions, which really made us feel welcome. While the apartment itself is more basic and less modern compared to other places we’ve stayed, it was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The shower water pressure was very low and could definitely benefit from some repair or updating. This didn’t ruin our stay, but it’s worth mentioning.

Clean, the location could not be better - right in the old city centre, everything is walking distance, new tv. The host Dominik was very welcoming, nice and explained us everything. His response time was very quick and he wanted to assure that our stay is perfect as possible. We will be back - value for money is 10/10.
All well.

Perfectly located in the heart of the city, it offered the ideal base for exploring all that Dubrovnik’s old town has to offer. The room itself was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained, with every amenity we could possibly need. What truly set this place apart, however, was how welcoming, and incredibly accommodating the host was. Their warmth and hospitality added a personal touch that made our experience even more special. I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in such a stunning city.

The location and WiFi were good. Bed was ok. Nice to have a kettle and fridge. Good Aircon.
While the description did mention a private external bathroom I did not realize one would have to walk across a hallway surrounded by other rooms to get to the bathroom. There wasn’t a mirror in the room so I could not accomplish even minimal grooming without leaving the room and going across a common area.
Also, the bathroom was hot and stuffy with bad lighting. We were told to keep the bathroom door locked which meant worrying about coming and going with a key.
Room was very small with very little room for suitcases.
Music was playing right under our window until 12:30 am and noise from people going in and out of rooms was loud.
The room was not good value for the price paid.

There are costs to choosing such a central location. There was a cultural performance outside during our stay. The stage was right outside. The performance was spectacular. But the setup and knock-down took place deep into the night.

The location was central in the old town of Dubrovnik. Good water pressure.
The room was clean and tidy but definitely more utilitarian. The building where the room was housed looked run down. There was a bag of debris in the main entrance along with a hat that appeared to have been there for weeks. The hallways were not well lit and the paint had seen better days. While the location was central, it is right over a jazz bar where they played music until late in the evening. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.

Beautiful property and amazing location, couldn’t have been better. Great communication with organisers for checking in and meeting us there.
Nothing major, but felt that for an apartment it needs cooking facilities. Also, the shared bathroom was in one of the main bedroom, so for those staying in the second bedroom, if needing the toilet in the middle of the night had to walk into the first bedroom to go to it.

The flat is in the heart of the old town- so easy to get to everywhere you want to see in a few minutes. Dominik was incredible - so helpful with transfers, recommendations and responding fast to any of our queries. He met us outside the gates and walked us to the flat, which was much appreciated.

The location was exceptional, could not get any closer to main strip, yet very quiet at night. no stairs to get to the building (only stairs are to the apartment of course) the hosts instructions on how to get there were excellent. . The room was spotless, private and very spacious. The window looks right onto a square and we absolutely loved sitting by the window, which also had a pleasant view point to the top of the hill where the gondola reaches. we really loved this room and in particular we enjoyed the views from the window which I have attached multiple photos of.
1. While the room was very spacious and beautiful, the layout felt cluttered due to overly bulky furniture—particularly a large dining table and an oversized buffet. At the same time, there was a lack of adequate storage space for two people’s clothing. This wasn’t a major issue and didn’t detract from the overall charm of the room, but a few adjustments could improve functionality. Replacing the buffet with a set of drawers and opting for a smaller dining table would help make the space more practical and comfortable without compromising its elegance.
2. I recommend that hosts consider allowing guests to safely store their luggage in the building's hallway after checkout, if required.
We checked out of the apartment at 10:00 AM, but our flight from Dubrovnik wasn’t until 5:30 PM. Naturally, we asked our host if we could leave our luggage in the spacious hallway. Unfortunately, the request was declined, and we were advised to use a local storage centre instead. While that is technically a solution, it was inconvenient and costly—especially at a rate of €2 per hour, per bag, totalling €30 for 7.5 hours for two bags.
The reason given for not allowing luggage storage in the hall was that the host needed the apartment key back for the next guest. While understandable, this issue seems easily solvable. A simple solution would be for the host to have an extra key cut. Guests could then use the spare key to retrieve their luggage at a later time and leave the key in a lockbox, or securely in the hallway, similar to how room keys are often left inside apartments after checkout.
This level of service is commonly offered in every other accommodation we've stayed and makes a big difference in guest experience. Given the size of the hallway and the relatively low cost of implementing a system like this, I believe Bassegli Gozza Palace could easily and affordably adopt such a guest-friendly practice

The location was perfect. The host met us at the main gate to Old Town and walked us to the apartment. We also had the host book a private transfer from the airport, which was very convenient to be able to not stress about transport and meeting the host at the main gate. After seeing more of the old town, I was very happy that we didn't have to go up any streets with stairs to get to the building. The apartment was on the 3rd floor in US terms, 2nd floor in EU terms. I didn't see that the bathroom was external in the posting, so that was a little surprise, but it wasn't an issue. The location is so convenient, which was a big win, although the room felt a little tight with our luggage, but we didn't spend much time in the room so it wasn't a big deal. The air con was lovely in the afternoon heat. The apartment overlooks a small square of multiple restaurants, and the owner of the Troubadour Jazz Brasserie downstairs sings nightly, sometimes until after midnight, depending on the night. We always travel with earplugs for this type of surprise, and earplugs were sufficient for sleeping on those longer nights. We would absolutely stay here again!
Although the air conditioning worked well, a small fan in the room would be a great addition. The aircon would blow directly on me when laying in bed, so that was a bit uncomfortable.

Clean room right in the center of the Old Town. 5 min walk to any of the sites. Good AC and clean bathroom. Dominic our host was very lovely and helpful.
Bathroom was quite tiny, but it was fine for 2 nights. Very steep stairs to the apartment so watch out.

Noise. There was loud live restaurant music playing to midnight right outside the building. Made it difficult to get a decent night’s sleep.
