We did not check in as host refuses to let us know how to check in + unresponsive

1. Host was not responsive from 12-4pm to messages via booking.com and wanted to communicate via whatsapp 2. Host claims that tourist tax must be made prior to the release of keys. He gave us the option of online transfer and paying via cash when leaving. We chose to pay via cash and take a photo but host changed his mind and did not allow. Insisted that payment must be made prior via credit card to receiving the keys. He then gave us the option to pay via cash at a specific location. When we asked for the location at 12.30, he did not respond till 4pm. Not sure if it was a scam but we were not comfortable with providing credit card details as payment has been made via booking.com. We were also okay with paying double the tourist tax as per the chat history but only via cash. So why is this host insisting that we pay via card just because he had bad experiences with other guest? 3. Tourist tax has been included in our total €159 made to booking.com as per our receipt. 4. We wanted an early check in/ place to store our luggage and host told us to inform him once we arrived at Piran but there was no response for a good 4 hours. We had to pull our luggage around on the cobbled pathway and insane heat as we had nowhere to go and host was not responding 5. Host replied at 4pm and told us that tourist tax was to be paid at property and that the keys have not been provided to us as we have no provided the ID documents. Matter of fact is that this was send via email to [email protected] the night prior to today with the booking confirmation number. My question is 1. why is the host so insist on us paying the tourist tax prior to the accommodation? We have not even seen the apartment and we were forced to pay (host insisted we provide our credit card details before checkin) which is ridiculous. Most if not all apartment/AIRBNB allows us to pay once keys are collected so why is this host so adamant? Receipt already said that the fees were included in our accomodations.

2. We are clearly tourist and that’s why we don’t have a local number for the host to contact us.However, we were active with the messaging platform on booking.com So why did the host not respond or reach out to us? Host insisted that they reached out to us but our number was not valid - this is obvious because our number was from Singapore and they are not willing to make an overseas call. No one reached out to us via WhatsApp either but they kept harping that we should have reached out to them via whatsapp. They could have reached out to us via whatsapp since my number was valid on whatsapp but they didn’t bother Contradiction #1. why can’t we kept things online booking.com so there is trace history? 3. If the host did not receive the ID document/ have received the wrong documents, he could have let us know earlier instead of only telling us at 4pm. Don’t try to blame it on us as we have the email evidence of the email being sent at 10pm yesterday. Host has mentioned that people sent them the document ID via whatsapp but in their initial email, they gave us an email to email to, which we did. Contradiction #2. 4. It’s almost 7pm now and we still have no idea how to unlock the apartment nor have received the keys. We have rebooked another place at a higher price thanks to the host’s hospitality. we had zero issues with check in and have freshened up at the new apartment + paid tax via cash i did not stay at the property as the host refuses to give the keys. Host insisted tourist tax must be paid via card (they requested that guests give their credit card details) before they will hand over the keys. Against booking.com safety policy and hence we did not give. We insisted on paying via cash but host disappeared on us, never respond for 4 hours till 4pm and never handed us the keys. Left us stranded dragging our luggage everywhere + under the hot burning sun + cobbled path. We had to book elsewhere at x3 the price. Waiting for booking.com to respond to dispute

Perfekter Platz zum Erholen und Entspannen😍

Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft an perfekter Lage! 3 Minuten zur Strandpromenade und Bademöglichkeiten. Das Apartment ist gemütlich und sehr sauber, und vorallem absolut ruhig. Es befindet nach dem letzten Restaurant in einem Wohnquartier, also keine lauten Touristen zu hören. Für Ruhesuchende ideal. Herr Moro ist sehr hilfsbereit und kommunikativ. Vielen Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Si tengo que ponerle una pega, en la habitación de abajo, hay aire acondicionado portátil, y hace un poco de ruido, pero no puedo ponerle ninguna pega, estaba excelente el sitio, hay un autobús que te lleva desde los aparcamientos de fuera al centro….

Trosku jsme hledali ubytovani, je schovano v ulicce,ale nakonec jsme zdarne nasli. Vchod do apartmanu a okoli vypadalo odstrasujici, ale apartman byl nadherny,vkusne zarizeny a cisty.

Vchod z ulicky do apartmanu pusobil dost ponure ošuntele a neprijemne. Byl to dost neprijemny pocit.Mela jsem obavy, jak to bude vypadat jak odemknu dvere.

Hermoso apartamento en Pirán

Espectacular! Leon fue una persona súper atenta en todo momento, antes, durante y después de la estadía. Todos los eslovenos son muy cálidos y buenos anfitriones y esta no fue la excepción! Nos dejó entrar antes al apartamento, nos dio indicaciones de aparcamiento y de sitios para comer y hasta se preocupó por el clima. El apartamento está totalmente reformado y es súper cómodo. Piran es un pueblecito con mucho encanto. Volvería a este apartamento en Piran. Muy recomendable!

It’s just a one-minute walk downstairs to the beach and the lighthouse. The store is also within a reasonable distance. The TV supports Apple AirPlay, making it perfect for watching TV in the room on bad weather days. The induction stove heats up quickly, and having a washer and dryer is very convenient.

Immer wieder DIESES Apartement!

Wenn ich könnte würde ich 15 von 10 Sternen vergeben. Wir haben drei Nächte umsonst angeboten bekommen, der Herr reagiert super schnell, er bietet auf vorherige Anfrage kostenlose Fahrräder an (alternativ zahlt man 40 bis 50€ pro Fahrrad) und sucht auch nahe Freizeitangebote für einen raus, wenn man ihn fragt. Die Ausstattung ist ein Traum und der Fernseher hat alle gängigen Streaming Dienste einfach nur hammer! Immer wieder und wieder gerne!!!

Alles war super, was man als Gast wissen sollte: - Piran ist autofrei und das näheste Parkhaus kostet 30€/Tag - Es existieren nicht viele Steckdosen - Maps hilft einem nicht zum genauen Standort, fragt Bewohner und haltet nach einem Hundekotspender Ausschau, dort in der Gasse ist der Eingang :D Danke für Alles! Bis zum nächsten mal Herr Moro! ♡
