Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Town: The heart of the scenic Ceiriog Valley in Wrexham County, North Wales, is Glyn Ceiriog. There are many ways to enjoy the great outdoors in this picturesque valley, which Lloyd George once referred to as "a little piece of heaven on earth," including hiking, horseback riding, and cycling. Glyn Ceiriog, once the hub of the valley's slate mining industry, is three miles south of Llangollen and provides a good selection of neighbourhood amenities, including two village pubs, a Post Office with a cafe and tourist information, a well-stocked village store, and a community sports centre with a variety of activities like bicycle rental, tennis, indoor bowling, and table tennis. Numerous attractions are found close by, including the majestic Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which is a World Heritage Site and well worth a visit. Why not travel to the well-known town of Llangollen, home to the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, which is situated alongside the River Dee, which is dotted with boulders? The town has a beautiful mountain background and offers a nice selection of taverns and restaurants in addition to numerous unique stores. Take a thrilling climb up to Castell Dinas Brân, high above the town, to take in the breath-taking panorama, or explore the Dee Valley by steam train or canal boat! Chirk Castle and Erddig, both owned by the National Trust, are accessible by automobile, and a day's drive will take you to six of Wales' Seven Wonders. Visit the Old Hill Fort at Oswestry, go for a stroll along the crest of the Clwydian Hills on Offa's Dyke Path, or use the national rail system to travel to the Roman city of Chester, Shrewsbury, and other places. All year long, Glyn Ceiriog is a great home base for exploring this stunning area.
