Perfect cabin for a short getaway

Our host Janet was a lovely host, who looked after us really well and had great local knowledge for walks around the area. The log cabin was really warm and cozy with no draughts. Due to the very low light pollution, the night sky was alive with activity with shooting stars and even the space station going over the edge of the horizon.

We wanted a rural retreat off the beaten track, so unfair to say we didnt like it, but as this is a working farm, be prepared for long gravel driveways with some acceptable potholes

A hidden gem in the Lake District

The location. The peace and quiet. The hosts went above and beyond to welcome us and make our stay comfortable.

Perfect accommodation for cyclists and walkers, cabin was spot on but accessibility put us off for return visit.

Peaceful and quiet surroundings, ideal for walking. Very clean and comfortable cabin with sufficient facilities.

The access road/driveway was absolutely horrendous with holes. Surrounding roads all very narrow and windy with very few passing places.

A lovely get away.

The location and the views were amazing. The cabin was extremely well equipped and there was nothing more we could need. The host was super welcoming and friendly, yet not intrusive.

Scenic and peaceful

The Cabin was lovely, comfortable beds and everywhere was clean! I think the host had a house at the back of the cabin but other than this, there was nobody around. We were after some peace and quiet and it is exactly what we got. Surrounded by countryside and sheep. The views were stunning! We spotted a few deer at dusk and there was a small nature trail with streams a few mins away from the cabin. The host was very welcoming and checked in briefly to see we had everything that we needed. After a long day out it was lovely to sit outside the cabin enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

I can’t fault anything. WiFi works but can be slow but I still managed to use phone and iPad when needed. The only issue some people may have is finding somewhere to eat close by. The farmers arms pub has an amazing menu but unfortunately it was fully booked both nights. There was also no iron which isn’t a major issue and we will bring our own next time.

Awesome cabin Awesome host

Very cosy, gem of a place. Janet was a wonderful host. On arrival, we had a very warm welcome from her. The cabin was very beautiful. If you want to get away from the town environment this is the perfect place. Very peaceful quiet place. Inside the cabin was exceptionally big and fully equipped. If you want to have a peaceful time in the lake district this is the perfect cabin for you.

The road to get there was full of potholes. The Internet was not the best

Nothing bad about it, we had temps of 23c so a few sun lounges would have made our stay beyond perfect but not end of the world

excellent - wish could have stayed longer!

Spacious comfortable and clean, this lovely modern cabin had rural views and lambs frolicking outside our bedroom window. Comfortable beds. Very well equipped for self catering and good shower. Very comfortable for adults and tall people with high toilet seat and large high walk-in shower. Host very pleasant and accomodating - thankyou Janet for a lovely short stay!

Nothing actually. The location very pleasant base, but quite a long drive to the high Lakeand fells for walking - but was no doubt more affordable and available because of this so not a problem- and the drive was pleasant and very rural.

Idyllic retreat in beautiful quiet countryside

Nothing to dislike. Beautiful location. Spotlessly clean. Our granddaughter lived being in a log cabin! Made even better by a lively meal at the nearby Blacksmiths Arms

We really recommend the log cabin, we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

The log cabin was specious and very cosy in the same time. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. The host was friendly and answering messages almost immediately and happy to help with anything we needed. The log cabin was really clean and like in description had amazing views. we had a lovely stay and our kids really enjoyed too.

Next time will visit in the summer so the weather should be better as there is many places around we can go walking and hiking.
