The Humble Hut

Location and view is fantastic. Rob is a great host, really helpful and settled us into their magical spot. Lots of details have been carefully thought through to maximise the purpose and comfort within the hut. Additional details such as the wood for the outdoor chiminea. Will certainly return!

The only thing is that my husband and I are quite tall and bigger framed. The small double bed felt cramped.

The hosts were so welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. The hut itself was outstanding. We were hoping to book up for the same time next year but it is booked up already 😢

Nothing, everything was just perfect. Definitely a home from home ❤️

What can I say? The Humble Hut is sublime. I spent 5 nights there for some much needed time out. I slept wonderfully - I've been describing the the bed to friends as a magical bed. Even the harvest farm traffic in the morning didn't deter me from going back to sleep. I luxuriated in very relaxed mornings. As the other reviews say, you have everything you need to make your stay great. Hosts are fab, were responsive to any issues and provided lots of recommendations for restaurants in town as well as walks + trips around the area. Wooler is perfectly located with Cragside, Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne, Dunstanburgh Castle, Duddo Five Stones, Berwick etc all an easy drive away, so it's a perfect base to explore Northumberland.

This is more to be mindful of if you're staying there during Harvest time. Due to the proximity to the road, there was noise from farm traffic in the morning. Sometimes making the hut rumble. But this really was for a small amount of time during the day, and didn't deter from my stay.

The hut was very comfortable and private with all we needed for a great week in the area. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful giving us lots of tips about places to eat and visit.

Wi-Fi was a little flakey at times . The nearby road was very busy and noisy at night and early morning due to heavy farm vehicle traffic ( harvest time and a rural location ) not a lot anyone can do about that ! Visibility getting out of the drive is very restricted and makes turning right a bit of a gamble!
