Good if you like a long walk and have earplugs

The apartment is quirkily furnished and well equiped.

It's a 25-minute walk from the middle of Cambridge, which is a bit dull. Most importantly, the flat is located next to either a train- or tramline which literally makes the building shake and woke me up very early in the morning.

A great little gem

Scholar's loft was spacious, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The bathroom had all the necessary amenities. The loft had everything we could possibly need. It was perfect, as well as the location. There was parking on the premises, which was definitely a plus. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

The bed was a very small double and unfortunately, as a result, my husband and I did not get a good night's sleep. Other than that, we enjoyed our overnight stay.

The property was exactly as described. Walking distance to the centre of Cambridge, and very clean

While it didn’t bother us too much, it is near quite a busy road and you could hear traffic passing. Also when an HGV or bus passes it does shake the floor a little.

Beautiful place, but impossible to sleep

The Scholar’s Loft is a spacious and beautifully decorated home, full of charming details. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into designing the space. Unfortunately, despite how lovely the place is, we had the worst night of our entire month-long trip through England here. The house is located right next to a very busy road (Barton Road), and every time a large vehicle passed — whether a big car, a van, a coach or a small truck —— the entire building shook. The bed, the floor, the walls — even the mugs on the kitchen shelf — all rattled with each passing vehicle. I’ve never experienced anything like it. We weren’t able to fall asleep until around 1 a.m., when the traffic finally began to ease — only for the nightmare to start all over again at 5 a.m. It’s such a shame, because if it weren’t for this issue, the place would be absolutely perfect.

Very beautiful apartment, nicely decorated and clean.

Quite noisy as it is located nearby a major street. When a truck passes the street the whole house vibrates. Difficult to sleep.

Cute and comfortably setup room, with good kitchen facilities. Private with seperate access.

On a busy road, quite but room can shake from passing trucks occasionally - not a problem - we'd stay there again.

Nice but shaky!

Nicely decorated. Good kitchen and bathroom.

Property is on a main road and the loft sits above a garage. This resulted in the entire room shaking every time an HGV went past so it was difficult to sleep. Also, not applicable to me, but having a Palestinian flag hanging out of the window of the main property might cause offence to some .

Good location in terms of access to Cambridge

Good set up - easy walk to pubs and town. Great internet and tv options

Cups / dishes weren't really cleaned properly - maybe previous tenants . Pretty noisy on road as had to have window open as very hot . Property shakes as trucks / buses go by so tricky for light sleepers.

Comfortable place, really enjoyed the stay

Arrived 30 minutes earlier than the check in time but it was ready and we could check in. (Thank you.) Good distance (walkable) from the town and quiet accommodation . Comfortable setting and well equipped kitchen.

Unfortunately water pressure of shower was weak and little bottle of shampoo/body wash wasn't big enough for 2 nights. The room was clean but bedside table was somehow really dusty.

Excellent stay at the Scholar’s Loft!

A spacious studio, very clean and comfortable , and with a kitchen well equipped. We really enjoyed using the bikes to visit the city. The communication with the owner was excellent.

Very comfortable stay with excellent hosts.

The B&B is spacious, clean, creatively decorated, and very comfortable. Communication with the host was excellent. Also, this part of Cambridge is one of our favourites and just a short walk from Grantchester Meadows. The walk to the Market Square is about 1 mile, but that is not a problem for us, since it is a beautiful walk.

The only negative is road noise and even a slight vibration when large trucks pass. However, we slept well and would stay here again.

The best rental apartment I think I've ever stayed in.

This property was exceptional in my opinion. On paper it appears to be a simple room above a garage, but in practice it was a beautifully presented 'loft' style apartment with everything thought through absolutely perfectly. The bed was large and comfortable, the bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean, the kitchen area had everything and more than we could have asked for, including super-modern appliances, lovely china crockery, crystal glasses, tea & coffee & biscuits provided, a nice little expresso machine etc. The living space had a comfortable sofa, an antique desk and a modern really good TV with a Netflix account provided and they had even thought to mount the TV on a bracket that allowed it to be tilted towards the bed if you wanted to watch TV in bed. The property is a decent walk from the centre of town so they have even provided bikes which can be borrowed to make it easy, if required. I would suggest that anyone wishing to set-up their own rental apartment should come and stay at this place to see how to do things absolutely right!

Self-contained, well-equipped and spacious property that’s close to Cambridge centre.

Felt like the loft was shaking at times, perhaps when a lorry went past on the main road. Palestinian flag hanging out of a window in the main house wasn’t a welcoming first impression.

Male host very frosty about parking, a welcome to would have been good rarther than just move your car - had tried to park as required. Suggest you designet a spot if you don't want people to park in front of your garage.

Quirky and a good location but noisy and a little cold

Excellent communication from the owners, brilliant location for visiting Cambridge, and the kitchen is to die for (I have splashback envy!)

The loft was cold when we arrived and the bathroom didn't seem to warm up at all. Only half a toilet roll was provided. Noticed a few cobwebs on the old books/decor items. The noise from the main road was so loud that it vibrated the loft when large vehicles went past.
