Not as expected.

The location is great for the centre of Cambridge and was at the cheaper end of properties in this locality.

The check in was incredibly poor. The owner only provides the option to meet you at the property but the communication prior to arrival was really poor and left me unclear as to whether they'd agreed my check in time. So much so, I had to call booking.com customer service to get an answer. After agreeing my check in time of 4.30PM, we were left waiting for half an hour outside the property. Again, despite calling and texting I received no response until 5PM which was merely a call that provided the codes required to enter the property, meaning they did not meet me in person as stated on the listing and could easily have been done via a text message to prevent the delay of my check in which had repercussions on my evening plans. The property itself is very basic. It's been mentioned in many reviews but the sofa is uncomfortable. Which is worth noting if you plan to spend any extended time in the apartment. There was a socket hanging out of the wall in the kitchen which is a genuinely dangerous hazard. Although not in the owners control, it's worth noting that it's very noisy at night. We had to contend with both consistent banging and loud music making sleep challenging.

Location is great, apartment is spacious, heating is funcional. Looking at other accommodations this one is really spacious in comparison to others.

There should be directions send prior to the arrival in the inbox instead of calling the owner on the phone to navigate the location to the apartment. (It would be easier for both sides) When exiting the apartment through the gate if you are alone it takes some attempts because you have to pull the door while pushing the button that is not as close as arm's length. Oven is not funcional and dirty, microwave also not funcional, couch should be replaced because it's very uncomfortable even for sitting (there is mattres to put if needed for sleeping on it), glass wall in the bathtub is not properly fixated. The owner was polite but didn't know we are staying for 2 nights and not 1 so all in all organisation should improve

Would not recommend

Bathroom was not up to standard in terms of cleanliness, the heating did not work. It took someone over two hours to bring heaters. The plug socket in the kitchen was loose. Proceeded to allow us to park in the car park but then wouldn’t answer the phone to give departure instructions. Overall lack of communication. Bed sheets were rough and uncomfortable. Faulty oven.

Perfect for a short stay

Friendly host to greet us with the key and made sure had everything we needed. Location a 20 minute walk to the centre in a nice area where we felt safe walking back late. Close to various eateries and supermarkets. Nice, spacious apartment

I would be nit picking, but the sofa and sofa bed wasn’t that comfortable but fine for a night. There were some dried mud stains on the bathroom floor, so wasn’t cleaned all that well, but toilet, bath/shower were clean and bed linen very fresh and that’s main thing.

Check in instructions could have been a little clearer - got the keys easily but then it was not clear how we got into the apartment block as there were a couple of gates. Also, host was a little slow to respond to initial contact only replied after 1.30pm on the arrival day despite several messages - by that point I was panicking a bit as to whether they would actually reply with check in details!

A lovely comfortable stay in beautiful Cambridge

Whilst it was easy to collect the keys, we hadn't received instructions in time and so were expecting to be met at the property as stated in the property information. However once we phoned the host they were very helpful and we we able to access the property with no problems. The property was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for a lovely stay.

The pictures do not do the property justice it is much bigger than it appears in the photos. The location was excellent. We wanted to arrive slightly earlier and then got lost and the host was happy to wait and was extremely patient. Thank you.

Lovely central Cambridge appartment but more suited to 3 people than 4.

The location was perfect and very central. The appartment was very clean and there was tea and coffee sachets supplied as well as towels. It was also lovely to open the veranda to get some fresh air.

The appartment was for 4 adults but the sofa bed was not really big enough for 2 people to sleep on, so one had to sleep on the floor.

Lovely host, excellent location and extremely clean apartment. Good value for money just a 10 minute stroll to the shops and centre. The apartment was close to some pubs and local amenities which was great. Nice apartment with kitchen equipment, living room, comfy bed and very secure. Thank you for a lovely stay we will return!

It was described to sleep 4. There were 3 of us . One had the sofa bed but it would not have slept 1 more. bed it was also quite uncomfortable
