El Balcón de Charles

There were no options for breakfast being an apartment. All cooking requirements met by a well equipped kitchen. The views by day were only surpassed by the night time ones.

Everything. The view from the property is breathtaking. The location couldn’t be more ideal. And the host is the best.

Emilio met us with the keys and explained everything which was very helpful. The apartment is very pleasant indeed and the view from the balcony exceptional. It was lovely to sit and watch everything whatever time of day! While you're not in the centre of town, this is a very nice neighbourhood, very well served by several bus routes from either up the hill or down! The buses are regular, cheap and the information boards are accurate so it makes getting around really easy. A walk to the lighthouse is really nice - there's a very nice gallery there and bar/cafe and again super views of the coast. The beaches are, of course, wonderful. I'd recommend the little beaches at the Magdalena Palace - the Bikini beach is a smallish cove. with lovely clear water - it was deserted when I was there in October but you could still swim. With a day or two in Bilbao you'd can have a super break in this area. We enjoyed lovely meals at Daria restaurant and Abra Sardiniero (which you can walk to along the beach from the apartment).
