Lovely quaint Shepard’s hut with the most comfortable bed and lovely touch with the crisps, biscuits and drink waiting for you on arrival. The setting is very tranquil. Having been here a few times before the facilities are improving with the washing up facilities being added recently.
The shower facilities are abit dated but the actual shower was really good.
Although though they are abit dated it wouldn’t put us off coming back.

Cosy and clean. Lovely peaceful setting
It was difficult to navigate as we arrived in the dark - just a light or two to direct us to the toilets (or detailed instructions of where they were) would ha e been a help.
But otherwise, it was a beautiful and relaxing stay. Thank you!

Great little place with stunning views, very comfortable, and had all we needed for our 2 night break. Lovely couple who run it too.

Host was quick to respond to messages, and came to clean when we raised concerns. Lovely welcome basket on arrival.
The area under the bed was absolutely filthy, build up of dust, rubbish, ant trap. We had planned to use this area for our dog but was unsafe to do so. Host did arrange for it to be cleaned, however, it should not have got to that state in the first place. The rest of the hut was also in need of a good dust (lots of cobwebs and dead flies). Shower/toilet area also very dirty, with broken tiles in the shower floor.

Good location for walks, nice decor, good to have a fridge.
Hut and bathrooms in need of a clean (lots of grime and cobwebs in both). No idea how youre supposed to wash up as no sponges and only a tiny sink in the toilet.

The location was beautiful
Cleanliness of the toilet/shower facilities were dirty. Soap bar left on the shower floor covered in public hair. Toilet hadn’t been cleaned. Washing facilities were a problem, no sink to wash dishes just a bowl with a dirty sponge to use. Plates and bowls were dusty. Step was broken and felt very spongy (unsafe) ashes left in the bbq & no black out curtains to shut out the light at 4am

Generally just a very relaxing stay. Everything exceeded my expectations. I got my car stuck and Nick dragged me out instantly with his tractor. Saved me a call to the AA. Would highly recommend
If my wife was with us but she went to Ibiza with friends for a birthday party!

The Hideaway was a special place to stay for being near the farm animals, in beautiful countryside. The star gazing and sunset was wonderful. I had fun making a campfire and found everything I needed for a comfortable cosy stay. Communication via text with the owner was helpful too.
Perhaps just to let people know to come prepared to bring your own loo paper and gear for the bbq and campfire if using it. Apart from that perfect stay for me.

Very well thought out space, unique , lovey working farm , lovely welcome basket with buscuits crisps cider etc.
Unfortunately the toilet and wash area wasn’t very inviting, and the hot water was to hot and the cold tap stopped working, poorly lit dark and dingy.
There was no lead to the radio ,?pub not a 10 min walk away as listed, but still had a lovely stay

Lovely cosy well-equipped hut in a quiet location.
Very dodgy shower that constantly cut out despite the owner attending to it.

Lovely secluded setting and very comfortable bed. Great space for the dog to sleep under the bed 😁 great facilities. Would definitely stay again

The idea of the hut is lovely and the style inside was also cosy.
Sadly there were a number of things that were very unappealing.
Firstly where the hurt is positioned in the field is directly in front of a very large, unsightly electric pylon and some bushes. Not only is this totally unpleasant to look at it, it totally blocks any view of the surrounding field/sun and also has the electric sound coming from it that you cannot escape when sitting outside. Not exactly the escape to nature you would want from staying here.
Also, when I went to pull the duvet back to get into bed that evening it was clear that the sheets had not been changed from the previous people. They were full of grass, hair and what looked like animal hair too. I assume this is because I was only staying for the one night so perhaps it was too much work for them to change. The bed is not a mattress but bits of foam that are cut and fit into place which is fine, however the foam is dipped in areas making for a very uncomfortable sleep. The towels provided are a nice touch but they were damp and I assume also from the previous people who used them.
Inside the fridge had not been wiped out and the floor was generally grubby.
Which leads me on to the bathroom area. The large bin that is directly outside the door to this area was full and smelt awful and was not nice to have to walk past. Then inside the whole place was very unclean. The shower floor was dirty and there was a very old and a disgusting mop and bucket in the corner which I assume is used to ‘clean’ with. Whilst I realise this is a ‘glamping’ experience for the money spent I would expect these basic cleanliness to be taken care of and cared about. And to at least to have clean bed sheets to get into at night.

Shower block and toilet needs bringing up to date. Could do with an area for pot washing

Idyllic setting, nicely done, enough creature comforts to keep you happy. Nice little get away.
