Great room friendly staff convenient location 5 minute walk from vatican

The property is centrally located near to a Metro stop. The security is very good with a lock on the front door, the door into the main apartment block and then the apartment itself

The first thing was the information about our check in we received from Olden. We were arriving late at the weekend and we received clear information about key locations and Olden opened the front door for us. When we met Olden made us feel very welcome and helped us with getting around the city and transport options. His standard of cleaning is excellent. The next thing about the property was the standard of cleaning. The bedding and linen were spotless.

We booked this place because the room has two individual beds. (We are friends, not a couple.) The room faces an inner courtyard, so it was quiet. The fact that there is a water heater and even tea bags was much appreciated. Also the fridge in the room certainly helps in the summer. We could leave the luggage until the afternoon on the day we checked out. Thank you for that! The place was clean except for the mold in the shower. And the sewer smell in the bathroom, which I had read in many reviews before, so we were prepared.

The trash was taken out once in four days/nights, the towels were not changed. All in all, no specific friendliness but factual communication. When we unexpectedly had NO water at all one morning, there was a dry "we are really sorry for this inconvenience". No offer to bring water, so that the guests may at least use the toilet. We found a pasticceria close by, where they were friendly enough...

The location is good, near a metro and about 10 minutes walk from Vatican City/St Peters. Beds were comfortable and the shower and WiFi were excellent. There are various eating places close by and a bakers where you can get milk.

The major drawback is that no one is on site. If you arrive between 7pm and 8pm there is a 20 euro charge which increases by 50 euros if you arrive between 8pm and 9pm. This was not made clear before booking. The breakfast is prepackaged croissants and cereal plus Italian crisp bread. On the first morning there was a choice of Special K and Frosties but the Special K was not replaced and no croissants on the second day. There was no crockery or cutlery only paper plates and cups and plastic teaspoons. Some plastic knives did appear on the final day. Milk is only available from the coffee machine but there were plenty of teabags.
