This stunning ADU is truly unique. If you have a penchant for all things Japanese or are a Japaphile this stay will not disappoint. Get ready to feel transported to Japan through the bespoke carpentry and joinery, lighting, textiles, Amado doors, Miyako wall texturing, and nature based art. It is a sojourn from the street to the flat nestled under big leaf maple and hawthorn trees as you climb the seemingly ancient stone steps guided by the hand forged rustic railing and amber lighting.
This spacious flat has an open floor plan offering one-bedroom, plus a private sleeping nook and an amazing bathroom with a hand carved stone sink and floor to ceiling tile. Organic cotton sheets and thoughtfully selected linens used throughout. A well appointed, user-friendly kitchen with Viking gas stove, stone countertops, counter-height seating, and cozy dining area looks out into the Zen garden. It’s a great place to cook a meal and host a little dinner party.
Living room is a modestly appointed yet comfortable space with a gas fireplace and soapstone wall that emanates heat making you want to settle in for the evening. A 32” Smart TV does not overwhelm the space like so many TVs these days do. Windows bank the south wall and look out to modest rock, vine maple, and bamboo garden vignette.
Outdoor seating area, on-street parking, free high-speed WiFi, and keyless access. ****Rustic stone stairs are required to access the flat and therefore is not wheelchair accessible. Please take a look at the photos marked with the red arrows to ensure a clear picture of access.
