LA CUEVA de TONI EL SECO

We spent one night here as we wanted to spend a night in one of the cave houses - we’d read about them and also knew of them from one of Almodovar’s movies - there is a photo of him other the owners in the house. There was a bit of confusion with booking - we booked and then within a day received a message via booking that the booking would be cancelled for nonpayment, although no payment had yet been due. The hosts initially explained that there wasn’t a problem with payment but that the cave was not available. However, ultimately they did not cancel our reservation but were able to work things out so that it was available.

There was a coffee machine but no pods (or maybe there are now as we bought a box and only used one, leaving the remainder there)! Those booking this house should be aware that it is underground, below a plaza with a playground, and if they want the experience of staying here, they should expect a bit of dampness and noise from the plaza.

Las camas son muy comodas. La distribucion es extraña porque se trata de una cueva. Pero no le falta de nada. La dueña fue muy amable. Tiene buen wifi y buena cobertura.

Las puertas de las habitaciones son correderas y estan un poco echas polvo por lo que no cierran bien. La primera habitacion tiene ventana pero a primera hora de la mañana entra mucha luz (no tiene cortinas ni persiana para tapar). La cal que recubre los techos de la cueva se desprende de manera natural y cae encima de lo que pille. Al estar por debajo del nivel de calle, del lavabo sale mal olor. Comprobado todo esto considero que el precio noche esta por encima de lo que corresponde.

The location is superb in that there are only two place in Spain where they have Cave houses, this is one of them. The local area has a lot of historical interest. Would highly recommend if your looking for something unique and characterful.

Would only recommend for people less than 1.75m as the cave ceilings are a little low.

Buena ubicación en el centro de Paterna, buena conservación de la temperatura en el interior. Un sitio curioso. Aceptable para pasar 2 o 3 días. Los dueños son agradables.

Falta de detalles como dejar una botella de agua, una aceitera, algunas cápsulas de café o algo a lo que echar mano si necesitas y no has podido ir a comprar ni agua. Hay humedad como una cueva que es Se cae la cal del techo Al lado de un barrio un poco feo a la vista Estaría bien poder dejar el coche en la misma puerta, pero solo se puede para cargar y descarga En general le falta un lavado de cara y detalles que marcan la diferencia.
