Steynskraal Gasteplaas

From the moment we arrived at Steynskraal we were looked after like valued guests. We were greeted by Dina who also made us fresh baked bread with butter and homemade jam. She had left a plentiful supply of delicious homemade rusks. Later Gerrit, our host, came to chat and told us about the history of his amazing property. It was evident that there has been much love put into the land. He told us where to hike and offered his quad bike to explore the surrounds. He even took my brother in-law (an avid naturalist) for a private tour of his extensive property and the nature it supports. The accommodation was lux. We stayed in a beautiful Cape Dutch home with in door fire (wood also supplied), pool and all amenities,. My wife was particularly impressed by the kitchen that was fully appointed and the beautiful touches like fresh lavender and rosemary in the rooms. This place is a hidden gem. We stayed two nights but could easily have stayed a week. A must visit

We had an amazing stay. The property was beautiful, comfy beds and beautiful views. Communication from owners were great and the soup was possibly the best I’ve had.

Wish we could stay longer.

Holy cow! This is probably one of the best overnight stays we’ve ever had in our many travels. It was like we went back in time to the 1800s. The home is immaculate and so well-maintained. Every need was accommodated for and the serene environment was incredibly peaceful. Sunrise from the front porch and sunset from the back porch left us speechless. The host is incredibly friendly as well and you can tell they love providing a beautiful home away from home.

I cannot speak highly enough of the attention to detail, the thoughtfulness and consideration that has gone into this property. Everything you could possibly want and need! Wish we had stayed longer!
