I cannot wait to visit the highland club monastery again however next time I’ll pick a lower level or ground level room.

The highland club is always an excellent place to visit and stay! Lots to do onsite and close by. Such a fun location!

Honestly I was not prepared for the stairs. We did not see it on the listing when booking but it was noted there so that was on us. However this was noted as a 2nd floor apartment. It was definitely a 3rd floor apartment and lots of stairs so beware of that.

What an incredible & unique stay

The apartment is big and spacious with incredible views of the lake. Also, the grounds of the monastery are gorgeous. We made reservations for the pool and it was great to see that everyone was quiet and respectful of the area and the time allotted (1 hour). Don't forget to take your towels with you.

I didn't want to leave!

Thank you Elena for the excellent tour of the building and facilities. It is one of the best welcomes I've received in a long time. Everything was effortless and was especally greatful to be offered ground floor accomodation when Elena could see I struggled with the stairs! Even my endless questions were welcomed and answered with genuine care and consideration. All the staff and residents were welcoming, friendly and felt like family!

No lifts. It is something you need to consider when booking if you have mobility issues.

We loved our stay in this great apartment.

The apartment was lovely and very well equipped. There was a generous welcome pack of goodies. We didn’t use the pool or other leisure facilities, so can’t comment. The setting was fabulous, with charming private gardens to stroll around. The view from the lounge/ dining / kitchen area was very lovely, although you can only see it when standing up.

You will need to climb up 59 steps to reach this 2nd floor apartment. It would have been nice to have been provided with some complementary milk for tea or coffee on arrival. It was only an issue because the only local grocery shop had run out of milk (and didn’t get any delivered until the next afternoon). Also, if you are arriving late, be aware that the shop closes at 8pm. Since the building was a former monastery, the windows are deeply recessed, and we couldn’t reach the windows to open them (although there is an effective air conditioning / heating system).

A true gem in the Highlands and Fort Augustus!!

The apartment is in a fantastic central location for Fort Augustus, secure access and parking with incredible facilities! Loads to do, loads of places to eat, thats if you choose not to stay in and cook yourself! Clean, modern, comfortable and spacious with a long history and sublime views straight onto Loch Ness! Check out the photo from the window at sunrise...

The apartment is on the second floor with no lift so if stairs are a problem then probably not ideal.

- auf der deutschen Booking.com Seite ist m.E. nicht erkennbar, dass es bis zur Wohnung 59 Stufen hochgeht (ohne Aufzug) - als wir ankamen, war ich darüber sehr erschrocken, aber als wir unser Gepäck oben hatten, war alles ok 👌 - danach haben wir den Aufstieg als Training angesehen ... - hatte mich sehr auf das Schwimmbad gefreut, aber leider hatte dieses zum Ein- und Ausstieg ins Becken weder eine Leiter, noch eine Treppe => somit war es für mich nicht nutzbar 😞
