Lux Cottage Conwy

Beautiful property, immaculate and contemporary presentation, perfect location for exploring Conwy and North Wales. Spacious and really comfortable, with modern kitchen and bathroom. A fabulous stay. Helpful and friendly communications before hand. We look forward to a return visit.

Great location, within the towns castle walls & central for restaurants & sightseeing. Although centrally located, the property was in a quiet side street. It was nice to stay independently in a house, with a lounge, dining & kitchen versus a 1 roomed hotel stay. Communication with the owner regarding key box entry & any questions was good & prompt. We were able to park right outside the door for the entire stay, although that wasn’t guaranteed.

We didn’t have any major issues that would prevent us staying again, but noting some details for a balanced review. There’s not much the owner can do about these, but seagulls are noisy at night :-). Plus, the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep, so worth noting for anyone who may have access limitations. We had some questions regarding missing or repair items that Matt responded to quickly & didn’t negatively impact our stay, but ideally those would have been spotted & acted upon by the cleaners prior to arrival. Although car parking is available, it’s on a narrow, dead end street with no turning circle, cars double parked & needs precision. We knew that in advance thanks to google earth, but anyone lacking confidence should use the public car parks.

Situated in the middle on Conwy

‘Lux’ is not the moniker I would use to describe this property. It has been redecorated, to a price point, but without much thought to comfort and livability. Lacks basic amenities that make apartment Accomodation worthwhile such as a wardrobe, any facility to dry clothes, kitchen condiments such as salt/pepper and tea bags. The coffee machine sat in a cupboard never used and not worth the trouble. Cutlery and kitchen utensils are kept in two boxes in a cupboard due to the lack of a cutlery drawer in the kitchen. The toilet paper roll sat loose on the windowsill, no holder. The ‘outdoor terrace’ was uninviting - high-walled grey stone, dusty, overgrown with weeds, bare-metal slat furniture in need of cushions. There was room for cupboards/ storage in the apartment but they have not been fitted. The stairs should come with a safety warning. Anyone with even a minor lower diability or frailty could not stay here. The on street parking was diabolical. Nothing was mentioned about parking until the very last check-in message.
