Spacious and Modern 5 BR House

The location.

The colourful theme looks “quirky and fun” in the photos. In reality, it feels more like a distraction from the overall condition of the property. The bold décor does a good job of drawing attention away from the dust, cobwebs in multiple rooms, and cleaning standards that were far below acceptable. We found what appeared to be blood marks on a bedside table, lipstick smeared on the staircase wall, visible damage to walls (including poorly patched holes), and a front door lock that didn’t inspire confidence. Both bathrooms had blocked drains. Showering caused water to rise and pool around our feet, which was unpleasant enough - but the smell was worse. It wasn’t occasional; it was constant - a thick, unpleasant presence that no amount of colourful décor could disguise. The basement is not advertised as part of the stay, and had it been properly secured, we would never have accessed it. However, what looked like a standard living room cupboard was unlocked and led to a staircase down to a dim, unfinished space complete with a mattress and pillow - best described as serial-killer-chic (and yes, that’s meant sarcastically). The light was already on, which only added to the discomfort. Whether intentional or not, leaving it unlocked made it an unsettling surprise and did not make us feel secure. Given the price, I wasn’t expecting luxury - but I did expect basic cleanliness and functionality. I hadn’t planned to leave a review until I was contacted and told I owed a £14 cleaning/replacement fee for two towels with make-up/self-tan marks. In the housekeeping team’s “professional experience,” these were deemed unusable. The photos provided show what appears to be standard cosmetic staining that a normal 40°+ wash should resolve. It feels unreasonable for a property in this condition to be charging additional cleaning fees - especially considering the effort we made to leave the place tidy.

Location good for Manchester Price was reasonable

We were 2 families, totalling 8 people. This could have been 10 people as it had 5 bedrooms, however one of the bedrooms used is downstairs. This left us with a small living room and small kitchen. There was a sofa seating 3 people and an arm chair. Then there was a table with 5 stools, one was ok, the other 4 were unstable and we darent sit on them. We brought in 2 bar stools from the kitchen, but we couldn't all sit comfortably in the living room and we had nowhere to sit to eat our New Year's eve meal. Bear in mind this house could accommodate 10, so that would have been even worse. The kitchen also had hardly any utensils so cooking was tricky. We informed the rental agency about the stools and got a message saying the handy man wasn't available, so nothing got done. We made the best of it, thankfully it was only 2 nights, but it could have been better

Decent property. Quiet space. First time using air bnb.

Left the house 10:45am and check out was at 11am. It was a bit creepy that there was a man waiting outside for over 30 minutes to see us leave. He was entering the property just at 10:50 when we were still closing our vehicle door. It felt scary.
