Very disappointed. Well below my expectations. The welcome from a lady doing Xmas decorations was pleasant but that's where it ended. The receptionist was more interested in taking money than ensuring I was satisfied. A parking charge was added, when I said that it was not on the booking, I was told an email was sent afterwards!!!! Furniture in room is very tatty & BOTH chairs wobbled badly. Bathroom was very tired. The TV only had a few channels. No USB port anywhere (my fault for forgetting my plug) Very cheap toilet paper! This is a CREST hotel, we expect better. I was going to dine there use the bar & breakfast but I went to the Black Tower over the road instead. So charging me for the parking cost them around £50 in lost revenue!!!

Food was poor

The hotel was clean, staff friendly and the breakfast menu had a wide range of varieties.

Nice location, pleasant staff

Room ok but dated, quite noisy as the secondary glazing had been removed and the old wooden windows didn’t close fully. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

There for a 40th birthday party. My son and daughter in law did all the decorating and catering so can’t say too much about staff. The bar did run out of a particular beer so we had use the main hotel bar and at breakfast they had run out of white bread!,

Reception staff friendly, bar lacking in stock, dated rooms and single mattress topper used on double bed so not very comfortable.

With only two staff on, when the barman goes on a brake the receptionist can not book a meal for you. i.e. they cant press the appropriate keys on the till. This happened on not one, but two nights. Next the set meals come with a drink, when I made the booking it showed the meats can also have the Hobgoblin, on the night I was told that was not the case! In the room after I used the soap in the bath it was not refilled, likewise having gone out to get a meal, the empty box was not removed from my room in the morning. Overall not impressed, especially when the booking agency (Expedia/ Hotels.com) had made an error on the booking and the hotel point blankly refused to refund the booking so I was forced to go there as well.

We found the Arnos in need of a serious update, especially the bathrooms. If we were to stay here again it would have to be much cheaper given the state of the rooms. The best part about our stay was the service, which was great.

Convenient, friendly staff, good food

Welcoming staff were great, leaving staff were hard to find. Bit dusty but otherwise clean. Other guests were a bit inconsiderate at night but people are ****'s

Having read some of the reviews for the hotel i was dreading my visit. But I was veey pleasantly surprised. I had a big room qith a massive kingsize bed despite my booking indicating it was a standard double. The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom whilst small and maybe a little in need of updating, had a fabulous shower. Staff were polite and helpful, happily arranging an extra quilt to be sent to my room the second night of my stay due to the weather having dropped very cold. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and well worth the 9.95. The only downside to my stay was on the morning after my first night when roadworks started very loudly on the road just outside my groundfloor room, which meant I got eudely awakened at 8am with drilling going on for the next couple of hours. However, this was doubtless outside the hotel's control and when i spoke to reception they did offer me the chance ro move rooms if I wanted to but I didnt need to in the end as the roadworks had gone before the next morning. I would be happy to stay here again.

The cars from the road all night was not told about breaking is not till 8am on a weekend when I explained I am diabetic there's nothing we can do for you not happy am on my way to Bristol airport to day

Hotel was close enough to get public transport to city centre. Room was good size, included a bathtub and we were checked if we needed anything else. Disappointing that the bar shut bang on 11pm even though we were residents and there was a number of other hotel guests all wanting another drink as well. Breakfast was kept topped up and fresh.

There are elements in the hotel that need a complete overhaul. Paint flaking off the walll, rooms very dated however the bar area was nice and staff very helpful.

Situated on bus route into city centre

Lovely helpful staff, big room with very comfortable bed and everything we needed for a one night stay, We were very happy with our dog friendly room. Wi-Fi was free and easy to use. Thank you

Add-ons for brea

Upon arrival, I was required to change rooms due to the following issues in the first room: Bed sheets had not been cleaned and there were visible blood stains. Dead insects were found in the light fittings. Unfortunately, the second room provided was also unacceptable, with the following problems: Uneven floor in the toilet, with holes present. Damaged bedframe and door frame. Shower lacked any markings to indicate hot/cold settings, making usage inconsistent and difficult. The room became excessively hot, requiring the window to be left open. As a result, I developed a chill and subsequently caught a cold. Breakfast was equally disappointing: Eggs were undercooked. Hash browns were overcooked. Additional concerns included: Décor throughout the hotel was inconsistent. While the reception area had been presented to a reasonable standard, the rooms did not match the luxurious images advertised on your website. This left me feeling misled and mis-sold. The hotel grounds were poorly maintained, with broken and damaged light fittings and signage clearly visible. Given the above, I believe the room rates charged are wholly unjustified. Comparable hotels in the area offer far superior quality at the same price point. In my view, the rooms I experienced should be priced at no more than half of what was charged. Overall, the stay was of very poor quality. I feel deceived by the misleading online presentation of your hotel and will be avoiding your establishment

The hotel itself was clean and well presented although rather dated. The rooms however were quite dirty, we had empty toilet roll cardboard on the floor in the bathroom and hairs in the sink. We also asked if we could have fresh towels and the room cleaned and they said not for a two night stay. We changed first room because that smelt like smoke. Staff seemed friendly and accommodating. But overall was disappointed with the quality of the rooms.
