West Town Barn

lovely owners lived adjacent--very good location --quiet

no washing machine made it difficult for us over the week.

Really homely stay, facilities were clean. Beds were comfy, and we were provided with a lot of cooking utensils there were even games provided in the drawers. The wood burner is a very nice touch to the place. Would recommend it for what you’re paying.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to use the hot tub. However, the host were kind enough to offer a generous refund so cannot comment on the hot tub

The barn was very clean with lots of space to relax in. Log burner created a warming atmosphere every evening and the beds were very comfy. The hot tub provided great fun on the evenings especially in the frosty conditions with only dark skies and stars to look at. Will definitely be returning. Hosts Dave and Lucy couldn’t do enough for us, took great care of us during our stay. The Travellers Rest which is only a very short drive serve great food too.

Hot tub was pleasant, living room nice and airy. main bedroom was very roomy with good size bathroom

First impressions on pulling up was very disappointing a very disappointing arrival. firstly neighbours had parked in the drive, over flowing rubbish bins and the main court yard was covered in weeds, which were months of growth. There was old cigarette butts and chlorine testing papers laying on the floor. The storage cupboard in the court yard was falling apart with rubbish and weeds all over it. There was no welcome package to find out the Wi-Fi code (a neighbour told us the code) or what was required on check out or any other useful information. a link was sent but it didn't work. Could do with a hard copy of the welcome package not just a useless link. The kitchen was poorly equipped with VERY basic equipment, could do with more cooking equipment e.g. sieve, wooden spoon etc. There was no drying facilities e.g. clothes airier or washing line to hang wet costumes after being in the hot tub. We had to leave them dripping in the bath then drape them over the patio chairs which wasn't ideal when the wind blows them off; again a basic need. The bathroom with the bath in it stank, not enough coat hangers to share in the wardrobe the other bedroom didn't have any hanging space. Lots of days old cobwebs hanging in the windows and corners. I sent an email saying link wouldn't open and asking about the airier but no reply. Yes i was given a telephone number i would only use that for emergency only not anything else Unfortunately i cant upload photos of the property at the moment, if i can later i will do
