Gentile's home

Fajny wakacyjny domek na kilka dni (bylismy 3 noce). Wchodzi się prosto z ulicy do przestronnego pomieszczenia, który jest kuchnią, jadalnią i salonikiem. Następnie jest otwarte przejście (bez drzwi) do pierwszej sypialni, a następnie za kotarą jest kolejna sypialnia. Z tej drugiej sypialni jest przejście do łazienki oraz na malutkie podwórko. Nam przechodnie pomieszczenia nie przeszkadzały, bo byliśmy z 1 dzieckiem. W łazience było wszystko, co trzeba. Wszędzie czyściutko, pościel biała, wystarczająca ilość ręczników. Klimatyzatory w dwoch pomieszczeniach. Dobrze pracują, chłodzą caly domek. Bardzo wygodne, duże łóżko. Do centrum i do fajnych lokali niedaleko. Gospodarz pomocny.

To stary dom, więc na podwórku grzyb, który niestety czuć po otwarciu drzwi w sypialni. Brak ostrego noża i czajnika, mało garnków. Przydałaby się sól, bo mało kto bierze ją ze sobą do samolotu. Zepsuł się ekspres do kawy, ale to się zdarza - zgłosiliśmy gospodarzowi.

Normally I don't book ground-floor apartments, but this one was truly special! It's even bigger than it looks in the photos. It has one double bedroom and a separate single bedroom divided by a curtain, but since I was travelling alone, that wasn't an issue at all. The location is perfect—just a few metres from supermarkets, and I was able to walk to Ortigia every day without any hassle. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and the air conditioning works perfectly. The host, Salvo, is one of a kind: friendly, helpful, and always available if needed. I highly recommend this apartment and will most certainly be back!

There's also a small private patio at the back with a washing machine, which was very convenient as I could hang my laundry there. There was a noticeable smell outside, possibly from the sewage system, but since it was confined to the patio, it didn't bother me. As the apartment is on the ground floor and the front door opens onto a main street, it can get a little noisy in the evenings. However, I didn't find it to be a problem.

Ubicación y comodidad

The house was super clean with a comfortable bed and the house had been creatively made. We had free parking just outside the flat and Savatore had left some coffee and olive oil and sugar for us!

The area was not as pleasant as others we have stayed in during our visit around different areas in Sicily. This was not helped by the fact that on the single metal door (entry to the property) there is a bolt loop and there are no windows in the property. In essence, if someone so desired they could lock you inside from the outside with no way to get out - even through windows. This made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. This is something which might need to be changed in the future to improve the experience of the otherwise nice flat. Moreover it was very noisy. There is one very little window above the door which we could not shut as it has been repainted too many times and has a grate on it. This meant that the noise from the busy street came in all day and night and generally the flat was noisy from restaurant next to it too.
