About this villa rental
Only a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk down to the vibrant Provençal village of Collobrières, Les Hautes Roches is a haven for nature nestling in spacious forested grounds surrounded by chestnut trees and cork oaks.
Les Hautes Roches is a distinctive and extensive villa for six guests with various levels both inside and out that provide diverse places to enjoy the Provençal climate and the National Park woodlands around. Choose between three inviting outside terraces attached to the house to catch the sun (or shade) at any time of day! There's a spacious pool area below the branches of an ancient oak tree and well stocked, rocky wild flower beds provide colour and texture. There's even a renovated stone hut with third bedroom accommodation and its own en suite shower room which adds further authenticity to this pretty pool space. A 'boules' area, popular at 'heure de l'apéritif' is adjacent to fruit trees and forms part of the lower terrace. The grounds are completely enclosed with a gated entrance for extra privacy and help add to the calm atmosphere. Inside there is a spacious living room and separate kitchen at entrance hall level, with steps down to a smaller, but cosy, TV room which serves also as a second living area. On the lower floor are two bedrooms, one with en suite facilities and the other having access to an adjacent shower room. This level leads out to the private swimming pool with its spacious decking, retractable pool cover and pergola.
It's only a fifteen-minute walk downhill to Collobrières via a small lane that leads to this charming village through which the river 'Le Réal Collobrier' passes. Crossing the river via a 12th century bridge the village is picturesque and feels far from the more hectic coastal towns of the Cote d'Azur. An ancient fountain in the town square is shaded by tall plain trees and medieval streets are well supplied with restaurants and café options. A gentle stroll around Collobrières is sure to please during your stay at Les Hautes Roches. If you want to do more than just stroll, the town is a good starting point for walkers accessing the Massif des Maures mountains. There are numerous footpaths that begin here or why not try an electric mountain bike? Local hire companies are available. A good location also from which to explore the Côtes de Provence vinyards and coastal areas of Bormes-les-Mimosas, La Londe-les-Maures, Pierrefeu, La Garde-Freinet and Grimaud. The closest beaches are around La Londe-les-Maures (27km).
Due to terraced grounds and steep drops in the garden, no children under 8 are permitted at this property. A retractable pool cover has been been installed, as shown in photo.
Please note: A local tourist tax of £2.15 per person per night is payable for each party member aged 18 or over. We will add this amount to your booking.
