Question was, what did you like? Absolutely Everything. Anita and Nick are an amazing couple. We almost felt like we were staying with friends, who couldn't do enough to make our stay really memorable for all the right reasons. Anita's attention to detail is exceptional with everything being immaculate. We mentioned that it's my wife's big birthday year, where we do a little something every month. Anita went above and beyond to make everything so special and even put a birthday card on the side. There's nothing we could think of that she's not already thought of. If we could score higher than a ten we absolutely would have, truly amazing and memorable stay

Slight issue with the heating when we arrived, but was sorted out after. Lovely area, although we don’t drive, so booking taxis/ubers meant had to wait a while, but everything else was lovely

The perfect b&b

The hosts were incredibly welcoming and truly went above and beyond for us! We arrived around 9pm and she happily cooked us two pizzas we brought with us and set the dinning table up lovely for us! The bedroom was very clean and cozy, with an incredibly comfortable bed! For breakfast we had a lovely garden view with a fine selection of breakfast snacky bits that we got to have along side a lovely breakfast she made for us! Definitely worth the stay, would highly recommend!!!

Exceptional stay!

Anita was an incredible host :3 From pre-check in updates, to greeting us on arrival + leaving, our stay was exceptional :D The room itself was spacious and immaculate. We booked as we were at Alton Towers for a couple of days, but didn't want to give Merlin more money for their on-site hotels. The location was ideal, and Anita's texts really cheered us up while out in the gloomy weather at the theme park. The bedding was so soft and cosy, I wish I had it at home, haha. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, and it was all delicious! And to come back to freshly baked treats really was the icing on the cake :3 We would absolutely return here whenever we're on holiday in the area! Can't recommend it enough!!

Lovely stay in a large comfortable room in a friendly and relaxed environment

I stayed at The Bay Tree with my two sons ahead of a trip to Alton Towers the following day. It was ideally located for that purpose but also a really lovely stay. The room was really spacious and comfortable with nice amenities. The shared kitchen had welcome cakes waiting for us and is also where we enjoyed the fantastic cooked breakfast, all whilst watching the amazing amount of wildlife (birds) making use of the garden. Our hosts were very friendly and gave us lots of tips about where to eat, how to get takeaway, etc. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evening playing card games and eating pizza. I would definitely return here in future for a similar trip.

There seemed to be a mistake with our booking, which appeared to be the fault of booking.com. This meant that we apparently paid too little, and this caused confusion for a while around whether we'd need to pay extra. In the end, we haven't done and I'm hoping that booking.com rectified this for the owners if it was the fault of the system.

A short midweek break

A fantastic place to stay! Only a few minutes drive to Alton Towers. We were welcomed with homemade scones. The room and communal areas were very clean and comfortable, and the owners were friendly and helpful, with suggestions for local places to eat and where to go for a nice evening walk. They also offer various options for breakfast, all of which were delicious.

Great location and host with great facilities and a great breakfast

The breakfast was made to order each morning by the owner Anita. She is an amazing cook and host she made me a cake for my birthday. Also made fresh scones and jam. The room was cleaned daily and was spotless Anita made us feel so welcome would highly recommend the Bay Tree brilliant location and a very clean and tidy house.

Brilliant - can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful, huge room with plenty of space for a family and very comfortable beds. Fantastic bathroom, all spotlessly clean. Homemade cake on arrival, plenty of choice of drink and snacks and complementary water in fridge. Breakfast was fantastic and we loved watching the birds while eating. A perfect spot to stay for visiting Alton Towers and lovely to retreat to at the end of a full day. Anita is a wonderful host!

Beautiful b&b that has thought of everything.

Lovely big room to accommodate an adult and teenagers, fridge in room especially when it was so warm, clean, friendly welcome, excellent breakfast. Dining space could be used for takeaways. Close to Alton for food and Alton towers for fun! Car park was handy too.

Everything! We could not fault this place at all. Mick and Anita were fabulous hosts and have thought of everything with their B&B. The accommodation is immaculate. The location is perfect and serene. The little touches such as the snacks, homemade cakes and scones made fresh for guests every day. The well behaved and friendly pooches. What a gem of a place

What a beautiful place & location. Hosts Anita & Mick are top class, you couldn’t ask for more. The accommodation is beautiful & so many nice touches. Fresh milk in the room for tea & coffee, if you’ve forgotten anything, they have it. Cakes waiting for you at the end of your day. Fabulous food, lots of options, felt really spoilt.

Excellent place to stay we were made very welcome from start to finish. There are 3 en-suite rooms ,lounge & dining area which was available to use for the guests separate from the living quarters of the hosts. Everywhere was spotless ,the use of the lounge & tea/coffee making area were a bonus much nicer not to sit in your room the whole time. The addition of afternoon tea each day was very special and the breakfasts were amazing.

Very clean and comfortable. The bedroom was spacious and had everything you could possibly need! The bathroom had a lovely bath and large shower, and again had stocked cupboard. Breakfast was lovely and the location was perfect, a 10 minute walk to the town / pub and a 5 minute drive to Alton Towers!

Perfect homely and welcoming getaway with everything you could want and more.

Everything from start to finish was amazing and so much more than we could have asked for. The Easter eggs and baking extras were really thoughtful and super tasty. The location was perfect for going to Alton towers. Watching the birds on the feeders from the dining room was very special, especially seeing a wood pecker turn up!

Very beautiful place, clean and comfortable. The host Anita is very friendly, kind and very dedicated to making us feel at home. Good communication providing all the information you need to know. The room is very clean, a fragrant and organized room. She has fairy hands when it comes to making delicious cakes in the afternoon and a wonderful breakfast. Beautiful garden. And it was a pleasure with my children to be able to have breakfast while watching the birds in their garden feed. My children loved standing in the place. The place is perfect to be to go with your family to Alton Towers, just 5 minutes. I want to thank the host Anita for all her dedication to me and my family.

Wonderful BnB in a superb area

We loved everything about our stay at The Bay Tree. Our room and the BnB was spotlessly clean and felt very homely once you were inside. The facilities were great and there were lots of little touches you wouldn’t find staying in a hotel, fresh cakes baked twice during our stay! There was a brilliant selection for Breakfast, made even better by being seated in the dining area which overlooked views of the local countryside and the BnB garden which was full of birds and wildlife. Exceptional, worth a visit again.

Hygiene, ambience, space, location and hospitality. Our host Anita completely made us feel at home. She proper looked after us. We were treated to carrot cakes and scones for tea. The breakfast was also good. The room that we stayed in was luxurious and spacious with all the amenities . Cleanliness of the room and especially the shower room was top-notch. We are bird-lovers and this is just what the place offered us . It was a treat to watch wide variety of birds visiting the bird feeders every morning with tea, Croissant and chocolatine! We had a fabulous time and would definitely visit again.

Super friendly hosts with excellent communication. Nice heads up about booking local restaurants in advance too with all the links etc provided. The place was immaculate and room well proportioned. Those little touches were much appreciated: fridge in room, fresh milk, oat milk, small safe etc plus sustainable bathroom supplies. The room and en suite were well decorated and so clean. The breakfast was wonderful - cereals, pastries, fresh fruit and a nice menu of cooked breakfast. We had the vegetarian full English which was great. Lovely fresh baked cakes and scones each evening were a wonderful surprise and really made us feel welcome and special. The bungalow has 3 bedrooms for guests with a large sitting / dining room for free use, with board games, books etc plus additional supplies (crisps, pop, coffee machine, teas) with an honesty box. The produce was all top quality and great to see earl grey & green tea options in the room. It’s easy to find too - just follow the Alton towers signs. It was so quiet and peaceful off the beaten track but close enough to Alton for those who wanted to go out for meals. 10mins drive to Ashbourne and 5/8mins to Uttoxeter. Will defo stay again 10/10
