The hotel was centrally located near Republic Plaza. Was able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Room was very nice. Asked for a quiet room away from elevators which they handled for us. Staff was very attentive. Breakfast was sit down and order which was a nice change from other self serve that we experienced. Overall a nice hotel

The hotel is beautiful. We checked in early to find out we had been assigned 302 across from the elevator which according to the map of the floor as the noisiest and the smallest room. We asked to be moved and the desk said they would “try”. Sorely disappointed.

We loved everything about this hotel! The stunning room, the beauty, the breakfast, the drinks, the spa & the kindness of every staff member we spoke to! Everyone went completely above and beyond to make sure our visit was the absolute best! We have travelled quite a bit & I would honestly say this is one of, if not the, top hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The bed & the pillows are a great test of a good hotel, and believe me, they did not disappoint! Please do not believe the negative reviews you read regarding this beautiful hotel; they cannot be from anyone that stated here. We cannot wait return to La Gemme!

This was our fourth and final time staying at this hotel. Front desk staff was not helpful (almost rude)and it would have been nice to get some kind of recognition for our loyalty. All high end hotels are proud to say that their guests are loyal. Not La Gemma.Our room was tiny and extremely noisy . Still a very well maintained hotel in an excellent location.

Wow what a stay! Expertly designed, curated, and comfortable. Hotel La Gemma is in the heart of Florence but still tucked on. quiet side street to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city. Would immediately stay again.

Location was perfect. While the main rooms on the property are nicely done, the guest rooms are run down: wall sconces were falling out of the walls, garbage pail was broken, the walls had scuff marks and peeling paint and dirt, the carpet in our room was very dirty, the hallways are carpeted and a terrible smell of mildew emanated from them. We appreciated the free refill of the mini bar, although this was not done each day of our stay. Hotel staff was inattentive and while polite, didn’t do much to ensure we had a fabulous or memorable stay. We requested an extra luggage stand twice and never got one, we just gave up. Disappointing overall as the rates are very expensive. Might be rated five star but definitely not five star accommodations and service. We will not be recommending or returning the next time we are in Florence.

Hotel La Gemma is one of THE best hotels we have ever stayed at. The warmth of everyone who worked there was amazing, including the owners. The drinks delightedly refreshing and delish. Don't forget to ask about the stories behind them. Beds super comfortable and great for afternoon naps to get away from the heat. We might fly back to Florence just to stay here again. Can't wait to stay at other hotels from the Cecchi family!

Ambience and service was absolutely spectacular. Seriously they go above and beyond and their location in Florence is nearby shopping stores, and we thought it was pretty central to everything. Breakfast was a 10 out of 10. Drinks were a 10 out of 10. Truly, everything was beautiful.

We loved our stylish room. The staff made us feel like royalty and were very sad to leave. The breakfast is wonderful and the location can't be beat. You step out the door and into the action. However, it's not noisy at nigh which can be a problem in a city that parties all night. We urge anyone coming to Florence to stay at La Gemma. You will not be disappointed.

is the property beautiful? yes. Is the staff accommodating enough to warrant the price of a stay? Absolutely not. Will staff be there to welcome you upon arrival and perhaps help get your luggage thru the door? Nope. Will they watch from behind the counter as you struggle? Yep. Will the very nice bartender recommend you a restaurant only for you have the front desk tell you no they can't help make you a reservation because they know that restaurant is all booked? Yes. Will you then call that same restaurant yourself and secure a reservation no problem? Again, yes. Can you find better service elsewhere at a fraction of the cost? Almost certainly yes. But hey I'm sure your Instagram pics will be cool.
