Amazingly awesome 💕

Raymond and Emma are amazing people. Not only were they extremely helpful at every step, even when we wanted groceries they drove us and helped us buy and brought us back and showed us around. Aside from that the property itself is amazing and located well within the town close to everything and has all the facilities.

The Beautiful Hillcrest ....5 stars

Like a lot of previous reviews the Hillcrest totally lived up to our expectations. This is a beautiful home finished to a very high standard. Emma and Raymond must and should be very proud of the standard they have accomplished with this property. The situation of the house could not be better a nice downward stroll to the lovely town of Castleblayney with everything needed in town on hand and some very good restaurants and cafes .The house is immaculate and bedrooms and living areas are all decorated with great decoration and not just a plain old room, in fact more boutique style.The bathrooms are no let down either ,they are also of a very high standard and exceptionally clean.an added bonus is the lovely gardens well tended to and it is lovely to have the private and enclosed courtyard garden to to rear of the house.We met Raymond who was an exceptional host and unfortunately did not meet Emma but as we all know at the back of every man is a great woman .We certainly hope to return on another occasion to the lovely Hillcrest and wish Emma & Raymond continued success with their lovely holiday home going forward, Regards and many thanks Ian & Aisling.

Emma is super at. Communicating. Her place is very tidy and she provided extra blankets late in the evening. Thanks for the welcoming snacks too.

A gem of a property in Castleblayney

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Hillcrest! This beautifully appointed 4-bedroom bungalow is just a short stroll from Castleblayney town centre yet feels wonderfully peaceful. The moment we arrived, we were struck by how spotless and tastefully decorated every room is. The house boasts two cosy sitting rooms—ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring—and a superbly well-equipped kitchen. We loved gathering in the spacious dining room for meals and games. The complimentary Irish fruit loaf was such a lovely, heartfelt touch (and delicious!). Each bedroom was exceptionally comfortable, and both bathrooms featured powerful, invigorating showers. The enclosed courtyard became our favourite spot to soak up the sunshine during the mini heatwave—it truly is a sun trap! But what really set our stay apart were our hosts, Raymond and Emma. Their warm welcome and attentiveness made us feel like treasured guests from the very first moment. Raymond even treated us to a private tour of Big Tom’s hometown—an unforgettable experience for my granddad, a lifelong fan. Leaving The Hillcrest was bittersweet. It’s not just a stunning property—it’s a testament to the genuine care and passion Raymond and Emma pour into every detail.

Business trip

Stayed at the Hillcrest on a business trip, everything was excellent. The house was clean, comfortable, modern with lovely decor. Raymond arranged airport transport for me which made the trip so easy for me. WiFi and facilities were very suitable for business purposes. Loved the coffee machine. I will certainly book again.

Amazing and extremely comfortable accommodation .

Emma and Raymond welcomed us to Hillcrest with us arriving late evening, with welcome pack.The property was absolutely beautiful. The decor and attention to detail was exceptional. Every room was individually styled.Outside there was a private space for dining.The fact that there was two sitting rooms and TV’s in all bedrooms meant there was always space for everyone to enjoy their evenings.It’s location is so central that you are within easy reach if the town and a short drive from the motorways and attractions. Ample parking outside the property too. We felt that it was a definitely a five star experience .

Stunning property & welcoming hosts

We had the most wonderful stay in The Hillcrest. The house is finished to an exceptionally high standard. As a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 pre teens, 10 and 13) we had more than enough space. The house is within walking distance to the town and Lough Muckno which is beautiful. And at the weekend the little truck at the lake serves gorgeous Mexican food. Best meal of the weekend!! The Hillcrest house is a home away from home. With everything you need....from beautiful comfortable bed linen to fluffy towels. Superb WiFi and an extra little sitting room that our kids got great use from. From extra books for visitors to some basics to get the weekend started the hosts have thought of everything. It's a perfect stop between Dublin and Northern Ireland and will look forward to booking it again as a luxury few nights before we do our upcoming trip of Northern Ireland.

great house for a big group or family. a lot of cafes nearby and bigger cities around

the house is very huge, the kitchen is great, two living rooms plus 4 big rooms. Such a well renovated house which was modernised perfectly. amazing warm new big house. the host met us and showed around and met us during check out too, we kept in touch via messages for great town recommendations, all of us were happy with our stay.
