Custom House Apartments

Great central location and the hosts were extremely responsive to any requests we had. We've stayed here before and would stay here again.

Minor issues only: - No side tables or coffee table in the living area (this would make a huge difference i.e. would be nice to have somewhere to put your drink while sitting on the sofa). - Some extra cutlery / crockery would be useful (e.g. just a couple of additional plates, cups etc). We did in fact request side plates at one point and the owners were EXTREMELY responsive i.e. they delivered them within minutes!). - The bathroom in our appartment was showing signs of wear & tear (e.g. damaged shower head, missing / broken toilet roll holder) but otherwise perfectly usable. - Our neighbours on either side of our apartment were clearly travelling together and frequently walked across our balcony to reach each other’s apartments instead of using the main corridor. Initially, we thought they might not realise it was occupied, but they crossed quite deliberately, even when our balcony door was wide open. This was surprising given the owners’ clear marking of the balcony boundaries with plant pots. Eventually, we had to politely ask them to stop crossing our balcony, as they occasionally walked past while people were getting changed. We understand this was likely a rare occurrence, but perhaps a small sign on the balcony or a reminder note in the guest handbook could reinforce that guests should avoid crossing over into other guests’ balconies.

Not able to open any windows in the bedrooms!

Fabulous apt, modern and clean. Great location in Newry. Also had air con which was amazing in the middle of heat wave. Would stay there again.

Everything about the apartment was brilliant. The balcony was lovely on the sunny mornings to have a coffee and get ready for the day. As someone who likes a comfortable pillow I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bedding. Would definitely recommend!

There are motorised blinds in the bedrooms that in theory should be blackout, but there are wide gaps around it which let all the light in. Bearing in mind the sun rises on this side of the building it means you're getting an eyeful of sunshine in the morning unless you bring an eye mask!
