Comfortable & Quiet

Beautiful location, very quiet. house was lovely, warm & clean. Delighted to see the stove stacked ready to be lit with enough firewood put out for us if needed. Was a little late checking out but host was very understanding.

A relaxing place with beautiful views and welcoming hosts.

The location was perfect. Peter met us at the property with the keys. Gave us a tour explained everything that we needed to know and told us that he lived on the farm if we needed anything. Patch their friendly dog sat outside the lodge sunbathing like a guard dog. The scenery was beautiful. We visited Ireland to attend a wedding at Cabra castle that was only 20 minutes away. The lodge is very spacious even has a piano in the lounge that my granddaughter had a little go on. We would definitely stay there again.

The house is beautiful 😍. Everything you need. Host was very accommodating. Lovely spot quiet peaceful.still close to village. 5* we were a group of friends very good sleeping arrangements. Bathroom in every room. Very clean. Very homely.

Beautiful location, lovely spacious house with everything we needed for our short stay.

Location was perfect. Road leading up to the property and away from main road. Lovely picturesque view surrounding the property. Very spacious as we were a group of 7 adults so everyone was happy with their rooms, bathrooms and lounge area to chill. Lovely well stocked kitchen too. The owner was very welcoming and showed us around the property when we arrived. Owner's dog stayed close by during our stay which was nice. We were attending a family wedding at The Cabra Castle Hotel so it was very convenient for us. It was nice to have the space to unwind after the wedding. We had a really nice stay and would highly recommend it. Definitely would like to come back some day and explore the surrounding areas.

One drawback was the showers downstairs didn't have hot water so we shared the upstairs ensuite shower between us.

lovely big house plenty of space well stocked with cutlery plates a few pans for self catering and casserole dishes. lovely to find a few cupboard staples too including toilet roll

a few more pans for cooking as no big ones and only one frying pan which is not ideal when cooking large volumes for a big group

Fabulous

Fabulous house. Twelve of us stayed there this weekend for a family occasion nearby and it was an amazing place to be. An extremely spacious house with plenty of room for us all. Warm and clean with everything we could have needed and we will definitely stay again. We would highly recommend this house and thanks to Peter, a very friendly and helpful host.

What a fantastic place to stay! We were blown away by the size of the accommodation, the friendliness of Peter and the value for money at this property. We stayed here to attend a wedding in Cabra Castle and it was fantastic. We easily got a taxi home from the wedding and it was lovely to come back to! Peter met us when we arrived and was so warm and welcoming! The place was spotless and would highly recommend Rathgillen House for a stay.

Absolutely fantastic property. Farm house very well equipped and everything very clean and comfortable. Peter was an amazing host and nothing was too much trouble! He definitely went above and beyond when anything was asked of him. We would definitely return 😃

A true Irish country getaway

Beautiful property and location. we loved being together as a family, and even got to light a fire during the cold evening hours. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms plentiful and both bathrooms and kitchen had what we needed. it was a treat to be here.

The property, though worth it, was further from the village of Kells than we had anticipated. However, it was worth the stay. we were worried about charging our electric vehicle, and Peter found a way to help.

Peter and Rathgillen House made our first night in Ireland a great pleasure.

Rathgillen House was even better than its description. We had 6 adults and 2 young children, and the house was spacious and comfortable for all of us. Our grandson loved the toys! Peter, the owner, was wonderful. He personally welcomed us, answered our questions, and suggested a great place for dinner- Cross Guns. When we mistakenly went over our time the next morning, he was gracious and gave us a little more time to leave. It was a pleasure to meet him!

True Irish Hospitality .

Peter the owner of the property was so kind and helpful . when we arrived at property he was waiting with his lovely dog to greet us and had the house nice and warm as the evening was very cold , He showed us around the house and stayed and and advised where to eat and if we didn’t wish to go out we could order in . we found him to be very interesting in helping us to settle in . In the morning we were leaving he arrived for a chat and too see if everything was ok . This is what you call real Irish Hospitality. Thanks Peter . Rose Brendan , Joe Bridget , Frank & Bridget .
