We had the most fantastic week at the Birkeneck Apartment , we booked the ground floor which had a huge decked area ideal for dining out & sunbathing , the views toward the mountains & the castle are just stunning & for us was in the ideal location for everything around us , Fussen is just a 10 minute walk away & the lake just a 5 minute stroll , every morning at 7 we went swimming in the deserted lake , what a way to start the day! , the apartment was very well equipped with a great hotel serving fantastic food & great cold German beer just 50 yards away with stunning views from the sun terrace , Cornelia booked us a table first night which was great as it does get booked up. The whole area is just great if you like the outdoors , stunning walks , cycle rides & swimming & when that is enough there is a fantastic spa & swimming pool complex just 5 minutes away , my only complaint was the plastic sheeting on the bed , we had a hot week of weather , what I would have done foe some cool cotton sheets! , this was our first visit to the area & we motor all over Europe , we will certainly be back.

This apartment was perfect for us, everything was immaculate, the building is well maintained and the location is second to none. The pictures don't do it justice as the surrounding scenery is amazing! Our week here was spent exploring the lanes and countryside by bike with a side-trip to Legoland and we can't wait to return. Silke & Cornelia's promised us with everything we needed to know & Cornelia was available on site to greet us. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen & laundry as well. The massage chair is a nice touch after a full day in the saddle! We'll be back!

We absolutely loved this apartment; spacious, modern, clean, fantastic garden and relaxing area. It was immaculate, well maintained. The views are stunning! We would highly recommend this property to friends & family. We shall certainly be returning. The manager Cornelia was absolutely brilliant, so friendly, warm & helpful. We were greeted so warmly on our arrival, given a great introduction and talked through and left with a folder recommending local activities, restaurant to refer back to throughout our stay. Location was perfect. We were 2 adults & 1 child, aged 8, who loved it too. We would recommend taking bikes or hiring bikes, go to the 2 castles that you can see from the apartment Neushcwanstein & Hohschwangau, the walk to & around the ruin at Ehrenberg Reutte, Schloss Brauhaus Schwangau. The listing description was accurate. We would high,y recommend this property - it is everything it says it is & more! The views in particular surpass the description! Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay here so much. We stayed in the lower floor of the house and it has been beautifully renovated and updated with every modern convenience. The house is large, quiet, very comfortable and has a great view of the castles from both the living and dining area as well as out on the deck. The bed was comfortable and there is even a massage chair in the bedroom! Birkeneck has all the conveniences and more in both the kitchen and bathroom, complete with nice fluffy towels. There was even a washer and a real dryer in the basement that we could use. The manager, Cornelia, was wonderful and spent a lot of time giving us suggestions on places to visit, eat, etc. She has put together a wonderful reference and resource guide for guests. She was very responsive to any questions or needs we had. This was one of our favorite places we stayed in Europe and we hope to return again soon! Thanks, Cornelia!

Just returned from a wonderful 9 night stay at Birkeneck luxury apartments. We were a family of 5 and had rented the ground floor and the first floor apartments. Both of the apartments were beautifully furnished and had everything you would need for a relaxing holiday. The ground floor apartment also had access to a lovely patio area with table and chairs and sun loungers. The views of the surrounding area and castles were stunning, especially at night when the castles were lit up. There was also a massage chair in the bedroom which was wonderful after a busy day out and about! The first floor apartment had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and also had a large balcony running the lenght of the apartment. The balcony had table and chairs so you could sit and enjoy the views. When we arrived at Birkeneck we were met by the manager Cornelia who explained all the details about the apartments and the sorrounding area. There was also a file in the apartment of recommendations of where to eat and also the many walks available to you. There was so much to do within the area of Fussen and Schwangau. We hired bikes for the week as there were some great biking trails around the lakes. The lakes were also lovely for taking a swim. As well as the 2 castles on your doorstep there was also the Tegelberg mountain and cable car and the summer luge. A five minuite walk also took you to the crystale therme spa which was lovely. We all had a fabulous stay at Birkeneck and will most certainly return there.
