This flat has a unique charm. It's located on the mountainside just outside Monaco, about a 5–8 minute walk to the border and the bus stop in front of the tunnel leading into Monaco. In fact, I believe the property next door (or perhaps the one next to that) is already in Monaco, which made staying here feel a little special. At the same time, it's in a quiet residential neighborhood in Cap d'Ail, so there was virtually no traffic noise at night. Although you can tell the property probably has been around for many years/multiple generations, the flat itself is very clean and well maintained. It has two air conditioners, one in the living room and one in the main bedroom, which were real lifesavers during the summer. The beds were comfortable, and the mattress in the main bedroom is a firm memory foam mattress. The kitchen is well equipped with all the appliances and cookware we needed. The sunroom was an unexpected bonus. Although we didn't spend much time there because it was quite hot (there's no air conditioning in that space), it offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean, Monaco, and part of the stadium. We could see yachts and helicopters. One evening, we even watched a 15-minute fireworks show over Monte Carlo (or the Prince's Palace) from the sunroom, which was a memorable experience. Host is very friendly and maintained active communication with us via Whatsapp. He even gave us tips where to park, information about this neighborhood, etc.

There is a fairly long and moderately steep staircase from the street to the building entrance, and there is no elevator or escalator. There's nothing wrong with this as t's simply characteristic of many homes in this area. But it can be quite physically demanding, especially if you're traveling with heavy or multiple pieces of luggage. Street parking can also be a bit challenging, particularly if you have a larger vehicle, as the street is quite narrow. Because of the location, I would also recommend having a car, as getting around or coming here without one can be challenging. None of these points are really shortcomings of the flat itself; they're simply part of the neighborhood and something to be aware of when booking. The only minor issue we noticed was that some of the bathroom amenities, such as the shower gel and shampoo, could have been refilled before our arrival.
