Twin Palms house

Host was very friendly and nice and property looked as advertised and great value. Good parking as well.

No AC but wasn’t that big of an issue in the climate.

Super friendly hostess. Comfortable bed. Location was walking distance to the town centre and restaurants. Small grocery/convenience store right next door.

Minimally allocated bathroom. We had the one room with its own bathroom, but there was nothing to hang towels on, and no place to neatly place toiletries like a typical North American bathroom. Often there were motorcycles driving past fast and very loud in the late evening, so not a peaceful location. A language barrier lead to a misunderstanding about required time for breakfast one day, so we had to arrange our own breakfast at the last minute one day.

We enjoyed our stay at this accommodation near Monteverde. It’s located just a few minutes’ drive from the town center and about 20 minutes by car from the Monteverde Cloud Forest, which makes it very convenient if you’re traveling with a car. This is clearly a budget option, so you shouldn’t expect luxury, but for our short stay it had everything we needed. The owner prepares breakfast every morning, which was a really nice touch, and was very helpful in organizing activities such as a visit to the Monteverde Cloud Forest or arranging a coffee tour. We felt well taken care of and appreciated the personal support.

On the downside, there isn’t much to criticize as long as you keep in mind that this is a simple, budget accommodation. It feels exactly like that — basic but functional. One small thing was that during a windy night, the noise from the wind was quite noticeable, and at times it even sounded as if the roof might lift off, although of course it didn’t and we had no actual issues. Overall, we had a good stay and would gladly choose this place again when visiting Monteverde.

Everything about the house was excellent. Lily is really a lovely host, and we really appreciate all the help she provided. The rooms and bathrooms were excellent, the breakfast was super awesome. Thank you very much dear Lily for everything.
