Cabañas La Pradera

Tucked away in a beautiful natural area! Property area was very impressive. The staff are SO helpful and very friendly.

The food in the cafe was a little cold and bland.

Beautiful grounds, the location was nice for us but would’ve been tricky without a rental car. I didn’t realize we’d have a kitchenette- we didn’t use it but that was nice. The staff were very sweet as well, we liked the family owned vibe.

There was trash from previous guests in the room when we arrived (it got taken out the next day). Also we had to ask for a fan, which was provided. The window screens had holes that let in bugs so we had to keep the windows closed, which meant the room got a bit stuffy. The bed was also too hard for our liking but some people prefer that! Overall, after we’d paid less for nicer accommodations in La Fortuna we were a little disappointed. But I wouldn’t go so far as to say “don’t stay here,” just some things to note based on your preferences!

I liked the location and it was also a really pretty area. The cottages were a lot bigger than I anticipated. The website I booked through said I’d need two cottages for 8 people but I only needed one there were plenty of beds.

The doors to the bedrooms and bathrooms didn’t close all the way and were very loud, there was no way to quietly enter a room. I also don’t think the lock on the front door ever fully locked. It might mention it in the description, but there is no AC, which is common in Costa Rica but still worth the mention. However, the weather was perfect for sleeping and there are fans, so that was no problem for us.

Staff was great, very helpful. The area surrounding the bungalow was great. We saw a lot of beautiful flowers and some birds.

The path leading to the bungalow was slippery and I fell twice. We told the staff, they immediately took action. Overall, the kitchenet was dusty and there were a spiders, it needs some cleaning and upgrade. The internet was very weak. On our first night the owner fixed it. The second night it stopped again. We couldn't even use the TV because there was no connection. We purchased an e-sim but it didn't work as well, I suppose because the area was remote. Do not plan to work from there if absolutely not necessary.
