Staff were very helpful and accommodating, good size and very clean kitchen, cheap accommodation.
Really needs a renovation, bathroom was very run down, it's very very loud, you can hear absolutely everything outside and in the next room, pillows were bad, you can only pay in cash.

I loved the staff and the modern shared kitchen. The bed was comfortable and everything was squeaky clean. The couple that manage the place are delightful. It’s a 5 min walk into town with inviting stores, cafés, tour offices, supermarkets and restaurants (one with nightly entertainment, and 10 min walk to the major bus stop for San José.
This has nothing to do with the property, but it’s on a road that local teenage motorcyclists sometimes use as a racing circuit. They can be very noisy, affecting most hotels in the area: Bring earplugs.

We only stayed in Monteverde for one night, but this hostel was pretty good overall. We had our own private room and bathroom, which was nice. Since we were exhausted, being able to hear cars and neighbors didn’t really bother us. The front desk workers were kind and always willing to help. The door was a little tricky for us at first, but it wasn’t a big issue. Plus, it had AC, which was definitely appreciated.
It had a tricky door to open, and thin walls.
