Simple to book, comfortable room and well located with private parking.

The path from the car park to the room could be paved rather than grass.

Cute little pub in a quiet location but within walking distance to Street. Plenty of parking.

Spider in my room, but sorted him out Underwear left by the side of the bed, perhaps better checks when preparing a room, I only found them because I dropped my phone down the side of the bed

Room was ready for us when we arrived and enough towels for all of us which isn't always the case. Bed was comfy and shower hot and since we were only staying one night that was all we needed. Staff were very helpful.

Some of the lights in the room didn't work and the fridge looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time with a half-eaten block of chocolate left inside.

Unfortunately the breakfast was not available.

We booked on the basis that breakfast was available as we had to leave by 9.

Location good as only 5 minute walk into Street. Room was comfortable and clean with tea and coffee facilities.

Staff initially didn’t appear to know we were booked in. Pub was closing early as staff were working elsewhere. Property seemed a little rundown.

The smallest towels ever could not fit small towels around head to dry hair. Very small. Uncomfy bed, hot needed fan on all night, couldn’t sleep till pub shut as people right outside room window. Food was not great either. Too expensive for what room was worth

A great place to stay. Room was surprisingly spacious, very clean and had a very comfortable bed. The rooms are in a separate building to the pub so it’s nice and quiet. Very peaceful at night, you don’t get any road noise and you’re away from the high street in a nice quiet street. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was really good, we only ate dinner there but it was really good home cooked food, and very good value for money. Nice to have a coffee machine in the room too which we didn’t expect. Overall excellent value and would stay again. We stayed with our little dog and it’s a very dog friendly pub, and the beer garden is just outside of the rooms so it’s not far to take them out for a wee.

It was very nice; I loved the stay. The staff was so friendly, and it was not busy, just how we like it. Listening to sea shanties on Tuesday was also nice.we would deffiently be back again.

The fan in the room…….

We were greeted by a very unhappy member of staff whose opening statement was”we are not offering breakfast as people say they want it, the chef comes in and the guest changes their mind”, but you can get food at Wetherspoon. Rooms need a good clean and updating. Carpet on stairs a trip hazard.Had a fridge in the room but had a half eaten carton of coleslaw left in it. Had food in the pub first evening but told they were short staffed so had to wait almost an hours “ because we are busy with other people. Group of youngsters left drinking under a gazebo until very late playing music and singing, member of staff told them she was locking up and to leave their glasses by the back door when they finished!!

*The drinkers sitting immediately outside our ground floor bedroom…perhaps move those picnic tables. *The unfriendly, unhelpful female bar staff member who seemed only interested in talking to the locals. This was in stark contrast to all other members of staff, who were just great.

Great value for money - fairly basic but very clean and with a really comfy bed and great shower. That's all you need for an overnight stay.

The location is very good as it is close to the centre of Street.

Showers was hot. Bed was comfortable.Food in pub was surprisingly good.Beer was cold. Was able to park motorcycle around back and out of sight.Breakfast was a full English or a choice of sandwich or cereal.

Room wasn’t made up during the day and was minimal amount of toiletries/drinks tea/coffee stuff. Had to ask for any replacement items. Just felt that everything was done to a minimal.

Nice looking pub externally,internally could do with a spruce up, accommodation was also in need of updating but acceptable for the price and short stay. Food was nice, especially the tempura prawns. Waitress who brought out our food,was very polite. Ideal location for the main shops.

The pub had a ‘locals drinking’ feel to it and not a family feel. The main issue, from the moment we arrived, was the barmaid who said the right things but in a tone that was just not welcoming at all, it was as if she just didn’t like us but had to speak to us! I noticed that she was more cheerful towards some others in the bar. We would have eaten there more often if we’d felt more welcome.

Staff very friendly. Landlord and landlady were great. Very social pub loved it the room was good. Everything you could except. One prob was the green light showing the door in emergency it was too bright but otherwise everything was spot on. I will def use this place again if I'm that way. Also only short walk to the shops restaurants and pubs

The staff were friendly and the vegetarian cooked breakfast was good. We liked the location, the bed was comfortable and the room was perfectly adequate and had a coffee machine (a nice touch though it would have been useful to have instructions on how to use it as I've never used one before and needed to Google how to use the machine). The shower was good. When sharing criticisms that we had (as noted below) with staff they were receptive and indicated that they would address these issues.

There was a stain on the duvet cover that had the look of a few small spots of dried blood. I need to be fair here and say that I think this could quite easily be overlooked when making the bed but it does show that perhaps a little more attention to detail is needed. A notice in the room politely requested visitors not to adjust the thermostat as it would affect the temperature of the whole building. This did mean though that we felt uncomfortably hot at times and had to resort to opening the window. The small green light in the emergency lighting casing near the door was sufficient to illuminate the room too much during the night; not so bright that you could read by it but sufficiently bright to easily make out the shape of the furniture in the room and this meant that the room was not dark enough for my liking. The pale stair carpet outside our room was very dirty and badly worn and whilst our room was ok it wasn't a good advertisement for the accommodation as a whole.

Just a bit of outside noise, it is a pub after all, probably smokers, didn't go on too late, maybe a bigger bed.

Lack of housekeeping not cleaned in 4days. Appears to be a staff shortage in the bar, one chap worked so hard.
