Shotover Serenity

We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful overall experience. We were allocated Unit 15 on the second floor. Like most properties, this one had its fair share of highs and lows. What we loved: 1. Excellent location: Very close to Queenstown CBD, with an easy drive to town. 2. Fantastic parking: Each unit has its own allocated parking space. No need to rush back early or play the nightly game of “Will I find a parking spot?”! 3. Well-equipped unit: Modern amenities were provided, making the stay comfortable and convenient.

A few areas for improvement: 1. The view and privacy: Unfortunately, the view from Unit 15 wasn't particularly impressive, as all the windows and the balcony faced the car park of the well-known Onsen Hot Pools. Cars and vans were coming and going throughout the day, from early morning until around 11 pm. This created some noise and compromised privacy, meaning we had to keep the curtains drawn most of the time. Not quite the scenic Queenstown view we had hoped for! 2. Arrival instructions: We drove past the property twice before finally finding it! The arrival instructions could be made much clearer by simply mentioning that the property is in Building A of La Résidence du Parc, on the left-hand side. Unfortunately, the address provided seemed to direct us to an unrelated property about a kilometre away. A small clarification in the instructions would save future guests an unnecessary sightseeing tour before they even check in! 3. The heat: The sun streamed through the east-facing windows, making the unit rather hot and the air conditioning less effective than expected. Bedroom 2, with its two single beds, was particularly warm — thankfully, there were only two of us, so we didn't need to use it. A little extra attention to cooling would make a big difference, especially during warmer months. 4. Air conditioning maintenance: The air conditioning wasn't working effectively, even with the fan running at full speed. On inspection, I found the filter was completely clogged and looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for months. Fortunately, there was a vacuum cleaner available, and I managed to clean the filter myself within a few minutes. Problem solved! However, regular maintenance would save future guests the trouble — and perhaps prevent them from having to play maintenance technician on holiday. 5. Dishwashing liquid dispenser: The dishwashing liquid dispenser wasn't functioning properly, making it difficult to dispense the soap powder.

The accommodation was both clean and incredibly comfortable, like a home away from home! Would definitely rebook when returning to QT.

We loved Queenstown but it was great to stay a little away from the busyness nothing of the town centre. A delightful and short drive/bus trip into Queenstown. Arthur’s Point has all the amenities needed.
