Bristol City Stays - Cabot Circus

Really nicely decorated, clean, tidy, new bathroom, kitchen. Really comfortable open plan room. Loved it.

Location

The studio ... as in the pictures. The bathroom quite spacious to move around. Cosy and warm. Good WiFi.

Lower ground level flat ... hence wanted some ventilation but the windows would not stay open. Only one bin for trash ... no bin in the bathroom. The washer has no dryer ... neither were there towel rods in the bathroom. No hooks on the door. Provisions not stocked as in washing powder or liquid hand-wash. When asked was told that washing powder is as per self choice. Nobody picked up our call between 8 to 8 which was surprising as they msgd later saying no call was received.

Location, coming from Bristol airport and arriving at Temple Meads train station it’s pretty walkable(it’s a bit hilly, so if you live in a flat area, or country like the Netherlands like me, you might need to get used to it first time. But from the house it’s also pretty easy to reach most of the area’s in Bristol on foot. It being located near some main roads and Cabot Circus makes it easy to get familiar with area. The house itself with equipped with most of the necessary items to do some cooking, it was more than enough for my stay. Being 194 cm tall I was very happy the shower could accommodate me, it could go even a bit higher. And happy to see soap and shampoo being provided, together with some towels.

I have no complaints or things that sticked out in need of improvement. For the price, I was happy with what I’ve got.

The location is great, just beside the shopping district and city center. The apartment was clean, comfortable and good looking. The bathroom was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed The building was silent and safe.

During my stay I had some troubles that may be prevented by the admin with a good inspection before renting. My TV controller was out of battery, I reported and got an immediate response but took 3 days to receive the batteries. The same happened for toilet paper, I reported and at the end I had to get it my self from their storage. Small details, the table kitchen is loose and wobbly.

Couldn’t get the TVs to work

Sent codes prior to arrival with description on how to find these. Flat met expectations of pictures on booking site. Comfortable bed. Lovely shower facilities.

Host did not leave agreed car parking fob in location agreed upon place. Contacted day before to clarify this also. Lots of lock boxes inside entrance to property, none labelled with flat numbers. Light interrupted sleep with lack of curtain on one out of three windows. As central location flat was noisy due to single glazed windows, would advise bringing ear plugs. Also movement detection light outside flat door was clicking non-stop.

Appealing service. The TV didn't work, we called twice and one for the staff was very rude and patronising over the phone. They didn't even bother to resolve the issue. Also the floor was very dirty, the flat was very very hot. The only good thing was the location. Don't recommend.

This apartment is located in the heart of Bristol. It was easy to walk to Broadmead shopping area for local groceries, the whole Bristol shopping experience and to get to the river for ferries etc. The apartment was clean and tidy. We were on the 2nd floor which would be quite a climb for anyone less agile. The kitchen had good appliances fridge ( no freezer) hob oven and microwave. We paid extra to park the car in a locked area to the rear.

There was a distinct lack of crockery, cutlery , glasses etc. Also although advertised there was no hairdryer.

The rental was quite expensive, but I really liked the location and the apartment itself was nice. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. First of all, there was a mouse in the apartment which woke me up during the night. The kitchen was connected to the bedroom, so the mouse was running around the same room I was sleeping in. There was zero contact with the hosts — they didn’t reply to any of my messages. On the first night, someone rang the intercom to my apartment several times, waking me up. Last night, a couple was having a loud argument — shouting, slamming doors, and even ringing my intercom. I couldn’t sleep the whole night. The house rules mention a fine for breaking the quiet hours policy, but I think this should work both ways.

Wasn’t very clean upon arrival, such as a wet and dirty cleaning cloth left behind a cushion, hair in the toilet. When we arrived the lock on the front door was broken, meaning anyone could walk straight in, and the host did not respond to this with a solution other than asking us to try to fix it. It was broken for our whole stay, and we did not feel safe due to this. Had the host corresponded with us more about this, and had it fixed, this would not have impacted my review, but the issue was not dealt with at all - and an incident outside the property involving a man who followed and threatened us made this issue all the more pressing.

We didn’t actually get to stay in the apartment we booked - problem with the bathroom. This was not communicated before our visit.

We arrived to find there was no key in the key safe as mentioned in the booking link I was sent the week leading up to our stay and no communication prior to travel there was a problem with the bathroom in the apartment we booked. It made a lovely chilled weekend very stressful for an hour or so.

The owner is absolutely the most helpful person in the world! It was a very good size. The car park was safe.

We were there on a very hot day and the flat was sweltering. There was no air flow even when we opened the windows. I suggested may be they think about supplying fans.

The bathroom smelled like a sewer from the minute we arrived. After bringing it to staff attention they did try to fix it but I knew it wouldn’t be fixed in our time. It made for a very unpleasant stay. Disappointing no efforts to compensate us when raised directly. So I will try via this site

It was listed as Luxury Serviced Apartments, it also says that on the front door, it is definitely NOT luxury or Serviced. We stayed in studio 5. There were no towels and TWO coat hangers. We requested both, towels arrived but no more coat hangers. We were aware there was no air con but advised jt had a ceiling fan, no it did not. The room was stifling hot, we opened the windows but due to noise, traffic and people immediately outside, (we were at ground level) and no air circulation, this only made it worse when trying to sleep. No instructions on how to use the washing machine, we googled an instruction manual! A small pathetic ironing board, either use it on your knees on the floor or on the bed. ‘Dining table’ was a high bar table with two wobbly chairs, not fit for purpose. The TV is a very small pc screen, not sure how it actually works as there were no instructions, but did find a news channel. Couldn’t use Netflix as our Australian log on doesn’t work overseas. The evening of day 3 (we had an 8 night booking) we requested fresh towels. After a day out we arrived back to find no fresh towels, made contact with Louise who advised us they were left behind a chair at the entrance around the corner and gave us the key code to collect them, why not leave them in our room, or text us details?? We gave up asking any further questions, unclear what ‘serviced’ meant, resorted to washing towels ourselves - hardly luxury! Two tea bags provided, for two people for 8 nights! Fridge, but no freezer. No change of bedding in 8 nights! Read reviews on Bristol City Stays, often things are overlooked, don’t just apologise and say you’ll do better, get organised with a checklist and do a proper job. In Australia we would barely rate you a 3 star, we ran a 5 star Airbnb for a number of years, this is nothing like luxury. Cannot recommend this place at all.

We had no hand towels or pillowcases. We messaged more than once- the pillowcases arrived 24 hrs later, the hand towels never came... The only bin in flat 9 is in the kitchen, not even one in the bathroom. The second (smaller) bedroom has nowhere to put clothes - no wardrobe, chest of drawers or even hooks on the back of the door. There is nowhere to put your wet towels to dry, not even hooks. The bathroom sink has no plug. No oven gloves. An overall lack of attention to the small details which make a holiday rental comfortable.

There was no breakfast

The property woukd fair better withbsome hanging space for … Wet towels and clothes. Hanging space for clothes was very low and somewhat inadequate.

Tastefully furnished and comfortable

The heating was on permanently and couldn’t be turned off - it was very hot outside. The parking I paid extra for wasn’t available. If we hadn’t bumped into the cleaner there would have only been two lots of towels - we booked for four. The iron and ironing board were not in the property.

In the ground floor there was a sleeping bag outside which worried us that a homeless person had been sleeping there Could do with under floor heating The shower head doesn’t fit and you have to hold it The door wasn’t on the runners

Communication with host was easy via email links and WhatsApp and host was so helpful and accommodating. It was very clean and smartly decorated. Fab location very central. Access instructions very clear and simple. Will definitely use again if visiting Bristol.

Property was in good position for me to walk to my work location and I could park for a fee. Later found out it was a scene of a crime and not secured

Secure parking wasn’t secure. There were no light bulbs in lamps and half of the main lights. Decor wasn’t the same as on the booking.com listing. Sat on the bed and immediately started itching say no more. Surfaces not cleaned.

Fantastic location, 5 mins walk from Cabot Circus shopping area. Great to be able to park for only 10 pound extra a night.

My bed seemed short and was pretty hard. Certainly didn't affect my stay though.
