Merewood Lodge

Spacious house with 2 parking bays. Quiet location close to Ambleside and Windermere. It has 1 shower room, 1 bathroom and 1 WC room which is good for 4 people. Welcome pack with tea bags, milk sachets and biscuits.

We did not like the numerous rules written on taped post it notes around the house in addition to the clear printed instructions and information displayed in the kitchen. It did not help us to relax. There were no oven gloves or oven handles for the oven trays. The instructions on how to work the oven were not clear. The information booklet was tucked away in a drawer and required some searching to join WiFi and find cooker manual. It was unusual for us to rent a cottage with no salt, pepper, cling film, kitchen roll.

The house was absolutely beautiful, spacious and well equipped - the hiking poles were a saviour for motivating our kids to hike! I loved returning to the house every day nestled in all the greenery and it was incredibly peaceful whilst still being conveniently close to the main road for getting to places. We loved our stay here.

Lovely property, this really did feel Like a home from home. Everything you needed for self catering. Had a better sleep than what I would’ve had at home. Bed was super comfy and bedrooms and bedding was nice and clean. Bedrooms were very spacious, the whole property was spacious, we are a family of 5 and we had stacks of room. The only gripe I would have is that the TV’s could do with being upgraded to a smart TV ‘s
