The feel of the property was so nice and cosy with a home from home feel too.
There was nothing to dislike about the property.

Beautiful location
The recycling boxes- not understand what went in each one, so we took our recycling home.

A well appointed cosy cottage, full of character and charm.
WiFi and Internet access was erratic.

Felt at home straight away and would definitely stay again. The cottage was spotlessly clean and
well equipped. Peaceful, with a lovely garden. Perfectly located to enjoy Borth-y-Gest and within an easy walk of Porthmadog. Gorgeous area with plenty of things to enjoy.
An outside light by the front door would be useful There is no means of controlling the heating. While I understand the logic behind this, it would be helpful to know the scheduled heating times as we got back cold and wet at 5:30 and the heating didn’t come on until 6. Had we known this we could have requested an early switch on and a warm bathroom for a shower! Not a huge issue & the electric fire is very efficient 🔥

Well stocked it's home from home 🏡 comfy, warm and inviting. The location was fantastic.
When popping out the recycling I took a rather nasty tumble on the back steps. Wet leaves and slate are a dangerous combination. Just be mindful it's slippy back there.

Great location near the sea with a local cafe and coffee shop. Well equipped and felt very homely. Great garden although we were a bit too busy on day trips to use it.
Nothing really.

The wonderful Welsh character of the house, slate, thick walls and so peaceful. Great to be able to step out of the back gate and go walking. Beach is a minute away on foot down the hill, walking into Porthmadog is 15 mins walk along the coastal path. Great easy parking in the chapel car park across the road. Spotlessly clean house and with everything thought of, utensils, etc. Enjoyed game nights around the table. Very useful books and leaflets about the area and further afield. Perfect location for Portmeirion, steam trains, castles, or just enjoying the peacefulness of sitting at the beach at any time of the day- no crowds, just the sound of birds and the sea. The landscape of the area is fantastic- sandy beaches, rock faces, woods/ nature reserve and the view of the mountains! Good communication with Lee before our visit.

Beautiful cottage, exceptionally clean, well equipped and comfortable. Communication from owner on day of arrival welcomed and reassuring. All requirements catered for down to fine details like torch if required in cupboard drawer, or tape measure. Real home from home feel.
Unable to access out house where ? down stairs loo and washing machine are. Maybe this was out of bounds and that was absolutely fine. Was just inquisitive.

A handrail on side of wall at rear of the kitchen would assist access to the garden.

Very cosy and quiet, and well-equipped for such a compact place
Only a minor thing, but the armchairs are a bit upright so could do with a few cushions to pad them out

Bryn Goleu is a lovely, warm and cosy cottage. Very well equipped, it had everything we needed for a long, comfy weekend. The cottage was spotlessly clean and it's position in Borth-y-Gest was perfect. We didn't get the weather for the outdoor seating but loved walking up the garden steps to check on the views over the bay!
Loved the very short stroll down to the beach and we had no issues with parking just up the road. There's also a play park very close by, but we were too busy exploring, splashing on the beach or enjoying family game night.
Perfectly placed for our visits to Portmeirion, Zip World, Caernarfon, Criccieth and random Snowdonia NP drives. And breakfast at the Seaview cafe was perfect.
Would definitely recommend and would absolutely stay here again for future visits - next time for longer!

Beautiful cottage located in stunning location by the bay. Lovely private garden with views over bay. We chose this holiday let as it was close to Portmeirion which was our reason for returning to beautiful North Wales. We also discovered lovely walks from our doorstep. The cottage had everything you needed to enjoy a comfortable stay including a very comfy bed with another lovely view. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us 🙏

Lovely little village just outside Porthmadog. Cottage was perfect for our stay and beautifully presented. The walk into Porthmadog was lovely by daylight. Everything that you could need is provided and great communication with the owner. I would definitely book to stay here again.
It was perfect for us as a couple and would be okay as a short break for 4 but space wise I wouldn’t exceed that! As a heads up to others, we went out of season and a lot of places were shut on Monday & Tuesday nights so if you wanted to eat out you have to travel by car.

Great location, parking close by which is not easy in Borthy, well furnished and so close to the breathtaking walks and views along the headland. A hidden gem.

This is a fabulous place to stay, so many little extras, we did not want for anything. The beds were comfy, the house was clean and really well equipped. The lovely well planned out garden was great for having a glass of wine outside and looking at the views. We were lucky we had good weather. Lee responded to our messages promptly, there were no issues, we just wanted to check something, he is a good host. Borth Y Gest is just beautiful, and ideally placed to explore North Wales. Porthmadog is about a 3 minute drive away, and has 3 supermarkets as well as lots of lovely food places and shops. Overall, an excellent stay.

It is very close to the sea view cafe, which is why we came back to this area. The price was excellent and lovely beaches and coastal path.
The parking is either up or down the hill, as no street parking or drive directly outside.

Bryn Goleu is a lovely cottage in a small village (Borth-y-Gest). The location is perfect for walks along the coast path or in the mountains, and in the warmer season close to beaches for swimming or watersports. The cottage is very well equipped, really a 'home from home', with a fully equipped kitchen and cosy sitting room with an electric fire, board games etc.. We stayed there after Christmas when the weather was horrible, so it was wonderful to come back to such a cosy cottage after a day's walk and relax with a cup of tea in front of the fireplace. The cottage also has a small back garden to sit outside and have BBQs in the summer (we couldn't use it because it was raining). Overall, a wonderful place to relax!
The owners were very helpful and quick to answer questions by email. Thank you Lee and Jane, I'll definitely return for another short break at Bryn Goleu!
Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect!
