Wilmar Cottage is a charming, new to market two bedroom holiday home situated in the picturesque coastal village of Orford just a stones throw from the quayside and a short walk to welcoming pubs, cafes. village shop and 12th century castle. Orford is perfectly located for exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast with the popular seaside town of Aldeburgh only a 20-minute drive away where you can stop en-route and visit Snape Maltings, famous for it's concert hall, boutique shops and cafes.

Just as we arrived and started unpacking we were contacted by the manager who told us that he was unhappy with his inspection of the property due to a strong smell upstairs. He offered to relocate us which we accepted and were moved to a larger and better cottage in the same road. Very impressed with the proactive and efficient way this was dealt with.

Very good location and well decorated throughout. The kitchen was well equipped with one exception. The WiFi was very good also.
Minor moans: wood burner not cleaned out; no toilet roll upstairs and the kitchen bin was a joke - it looked like a bathroom bin but without a lid.
Lastly, I put both bins out Wednesday night, but the general waste bin wasn’t emptied - which is, er, rubbish.
I would definitely recommend the cottage to others though!

We have just stayed for 3 nights end of June. Great location, easy parking, well equipped kitchen. Bed comfortable and nice bed linen and towels. Although the kitchen was clean there was an air of slight neglect about the place which was a shame. Cobwebs with dead crane flies and a not too spruce bbq (you’d need to clean it before use) next to the bins. Bins were full when we arrived on a Thursday- so not been emptied the previous day- Wednesday being bin day. The courtyard had so much potential but it was unloved and neglected- gate on its last legs and mismatched chairs and a dead fern. No one mentions the tiny doorways upstairs. I am 5’3’’ and banged my head several times- doorways 5ft at best- which is ok if you know how it is in advance. A real shame as it could be absolutely lovely with a bit of tlc!
