About this cottage rental
This beautifully decorated and furnished contemporary holiday cottage sits in a very central location just off the main village square in this historical gem of a town; the ideal spot for a coastal holiday or weekend away with friends and family.
The sociable open plan living area is cleverly designed with a central chimney housing a double facing wood burner which you can enjoy from both the cosy sitting area with a generous corner sofa positioned so you can watch the telly; and the dining
GROUND FLOOR
A wonderful open plan living/kitchen/dining area with dual sided fireplace and a 32” Television located recessed into the chimney stack behind a piece of art.
The kitchen has a waist height oven as well as a combi oven, a large fridge with two large drawer freezer beneath it, a dishwasher, no coffee machine but a cafetiere.

King sized bedroom with hanging space
Double room with built in wardrobe
Single room with chest of drawers
Lovely light modern bathroom with velux windows. a large bath, shower over with shower screen, wash basin with drawer beneath, WC and heated towel rail (towels provided)
OUTSIDE
There's parking for two cars (one in front of the other) on the drive to the side of the house and a fully enclosed terrace leading to garage / utility room with table football, bike storage, a washing machine and dryer. Also a handy place for beach/sailing/swimming gear.

We love Orford and this is the third house we have stayed in; probably the best in terms of space, but not great in terms of general maintenance.

While the location and aesthetic design of the interior of crown cottage were very good, we felt that the property suffered from superficial cleaning and poor maintenance. The bathroom was not clean, dishwasher was filthy and the tumble dryer full of fluff. The bathroom is very damp and the floor tiles are coming loose, the drinks fridge doesn’t work, no salt or rinse aid in the dishwasher for sometime and crockery and cutlery consequently ruined. The kitchen bin felt ‘grubby’. The bathroom windows especially were very dirty. We were surprised there was no welcome pack of tea, coffee and milk as the blurb made reference to one plus there is no room to store food during the stay. There is obviously an issue with smells in the cottage given the extensive number of diffusers. Overall the property was not cleaned or maintained to the standard we expect (or implied in the blurb)
