Staff was polite
I am very sorry to say that It's absolutely waste of money, on the general description its saying ensute bathroom but its saying on the room description its saying common bathroom. There is one shower room inside the room. On the way to room is really scary. There is heating inside room. But window is not double glazed and couldn't shut properly. People was shouting talking outside almost up to early morning. They were smoking and I could even taste smoke. They offered full English breakfast but the taff said only porridge or cereal available Lots of lots negatives...I was really sad and disappointed. Same price better hotels available...

Arrived in the afternoon, parked up and advised the property we would be back later in the evening to check in. Arrived back at the hotel approx 1200hrs and was taken to a twin room with a shared bathroom … we had booked a double room with a terrace and private bathroom - couldn’t have been further from the advertisement. We were also quickly informed that there is no ‘breakfast included’ as per the booking but a pot of porridge would be dropped at the room to add boiling water to in the morning. Attempted to use the shared bathroom but an undesirable gave a grunting response behind a locked door. Worried for my safety at this point I went downstairs to the bar. I spoke with the manager who immediately blamed booking.com for the false advertisement and stated there was nothing he could do about it, at this stage my husband spoke with customer services to seek support on our current situation. The manager then informed that the room we had booked was unavailable as he had been residing in there himself for the past 3-months, he then offered to clear out his belongings but we would need to wait half an hour. Time passed and he advised he could not facilitate us. Booking.com attempted to make contact with the manager and eventually the booking was cancelled. At this point it was 1am, we had no accommodation and was stuck in an undesirable location with local pub attenders who advised this was a common issue at the property. Whilst waiting for further instruction we were stuck in the pub and felt unsafe in our surroundings, criminal activity was blatantly taking place as well as illicit substance misuse. We sat outside of the property for hours and was offered accommodation from booking.com in Blackpool, 1.5hrs away from our current location. We were also informed that we would need to pay for the privilege, including transport to this location and could claim back the hotel only. After pleading with family we were eventually saved around 4am.

To suggest that breakfast is served at NOON is a joke. It must be the only establishment in the UK to serve at this time. We were shown the room and after seeing the very low beds and the awful state of the dressing gown we decided not to stay. I cannot believe Booking.com offer such accommodation way below the standard expected in 20th century and consider I am entitled to a refund on this basis.

Breakfast time after the 12 PM. Who takes breakfast at this hour? Location was good for me.
Arrived at around 1990. Room was cold. Reception told me it will start automatically, started in the morning around 0600. Mattress was awful. Shared bathroom, no hand wash, holder was empty. No mirror in front of the basin to shave. Room has a table without the chair. Breakfast was added but you will need to wait until it is past midday. It is a dishonest act.

Room was pretty cold when entered . It took a while to warm up a little.

The location was good for us.
The rooms are dated and tired looking. The shared bathroom was disgusting and quite far from our room. It was very dirty. Breakfast was included in the stay but when we went downstairs at 9am for breakfast the pub was closed. It was only when we rang the ring doorbell to request the code to get back into our room that we were informed breakfast was at 12! That’s lunchtime not breakfast time. We decided to leave at 10 as we couldn’t wait until 12 but there was nowhere to leave the key fob so we wrapped it in a piece of paper and put it through the letter box of the staff entrance.

Shared bathroom and cleanliness in general

Very run down. Signage outside falling off should have been our first clue.
Mouldy bathroom around ceiling and shower screen. No towels in the bathroom. And it’s shared which we were unaware if. (The property listing says a shared toilet, not whole bathroom). Unclean cushions on bed, fireplace detached from the wall in bedroom. One cup for two people.
Very complicated check in process, with an online form to be completed by myself, ID to be shown, driving licence number to be added to said online form, then a photo of my licence taken too. I found this quite invasive, I was only staying one night. Seeing that I was who had booked was surely enough.
Breakfast not served until 12, therefore not breakfast. And it was offered as ‘a small breakfast’ or we could choose a continental to be taken to our room the night before. We opted for this as we’re not waiting for lunchtime for a small breakfast. This consisted of a pot of porridge, a banana and a muffin. Not continental at all then. Listing states breakfast included, and it being a pub that serves food I sort of expected breakfast. We ended up going out to eat. Had I known this in advance I wouldn’t have booked.
Robes and towels provided, but the robes looked very old.
Getting into bedroom involved going through two gates with security codes outside. No internal access to rooms. Both doors have different codes and locks, so actually getting upstairs if a pain.
Our room looked nothing like the photos on the listing.

The advertised breakfast was impossible to get - served 12 midday this should not be allowed to be advertised as breakfast. Instead, when the staff remembered we got instant porridge in a paper cup and a cake in plastic and 1 orange or 6 strawberries between us.
When we enquired after evening food we were told the freezer had broken. Making this impossible.
The carpet was dirty and stained and cigarette marked. The bedclothes had cigarette burn holes in them.
There were no cupboards. Two straw drawers were the only storage.
The windows were repaired badly and were draughty or did not open. Not thermal.
There was a toilet standing in the room partially screened. This outrageously described as 'en suite'. No ventilation. No deodoriser. No cleaner. Needless to say we did not use it. The other bathroom was shared with 7 other rooms.
No toiletries were provided only a minimal amount of liquid soap. No bathrobes. 1 towel each.
The heating did not work.
There was a 3cm gap under the door allowing draught and noise.
It is always 8 oclock in room 8 because the clock does not work.
Ornament on bedstead was broken.
The walls were peeling, both paint and paper. Wires were hanging from the walls. The toilet area had been badly mopped witj an old mop leaving strands of mophead lying.
The top of the screen near the toilet was thick with dust.
There was a metal shower cabinet in the room so small it was claustrophobic and at 195cm i did not dare try it.
The staff seemed to be teenage girls left alone.
If I had not been visiting a seriously ill relative I would have left immediately.
Do not waste your money here.

That we were told security cameras were all round the car park
Room 8 was disgustingly dirty. En suite is a joke and not private. The bed was no more than a trampoline mattress on a piece of board. Bedding was brown and dubious, two pillows stuffed in one pillow case. One bulb from the ceiling and one bedside light. Whoever designed the continental breakfast has never been to the continent. It was a pot of porridge oats and a muffin. In the morning, the kettle over boiled as it wouldn't switch off. No-one to tell as the pub didn't open until 12.00. I could go on but that's enough for starters. We couldn't leave and find alternative accommodation as we were at a concert in the evening. We will never use that pub again and won't recommend it. We will also be leaving a scathing review on trip advisor.

It was awful. Entrance dirty. Pub sign broken and the best. A BURNT OUT SIDE ANNEX ADJACENT TO WHERE YOU GO UP TO ROOMS. HIDEOUS duty hallway. No TLC HERE
Filthy entrance. Old tired toilet ( shared ) broken blind and worst bed since my backpacking days in India in the 80s why don’t you say shared toilet and “breakfast” at 12. Since when is breakfast at 12 on the planet. ??

Convenience for visiting Litherland and Crosby especially with the grand national being on. Was nice and quiet, handy with restaurant downstairs. Didn't hear any traffic and parking.
Although there is an electric shower in the room the other bathroom facilities are down the hallway. It worked for us. A bit faffy getting to the room. For some reason WiFi wasn't very accessible required to scan a qr code didn't work on my android phone but worked on my friend's apple phone.

Stayed here for the weekend and for the price I couldn't have asked for more. The first morning we couldn't make breakfast and they brought us a little tray of muffins, fresh fruit and porridge which I think was a lovely touch. The service was great, the staff were attentive and friendly. The room was a great size for ² single beds, a small shower in the corner and a smart TV. Tea and coffee in the room included and a comfy night sleep.
The food/drinks. Asked for a midori sour and clearly got given apple sours with lemonade and lime cordial. The breakfast I'm glad was free and included because it was awful, I don't know how servers aren't embarrassed serving it. The one slither of bacon was grey and falling apart and the eggs were powdered. See pictures. We would've stayed again if the food was actually good.

The breakfast was fine. The staff cheerful and attentive. The price was reasonable and public transport was quite close.
The breakfast was served at an unusual time - 12:00. Access to the rooms could have been from inside the pub but was arranged to be accessed from outside which was a little inconvenient.

Beds were comfortable. The member of staff, young lady S was valiant in doing her best to iron issues out.
On arrival at 4pm we were informed no food was served in the pub on Monday evenings. We had planned to have tea/dinner there. The only member of staff on duty a young lady about 25ish said it was shared bathroom set up, which was sprung on us. I had made a prior requested for soya milk online because there was a question asking about any allergies. The young lady said there was no soya milk. We asked what time breakfast was served as this was included in the final price paid I had paid. The young lady said there would not be any breakfast as staff did not start work until 12noon. I was shocked and being strangers to the area and tired after our journey realised we would have to go shopping. The young lady couldn't help with any food other than saying there was a Tesco about a mile away. In the bedroom there was no bag in the wire rubbish bin. No teaspoons with the two teacups. Only 1 little milk sachet and one coffee sachet plus 3 teabags and one was split with the leaves in the bottom of the bowl holding them. There was no soap in the soap dispenser on the sink shelf in the shared bathroom but 2 rolls of loo paper. There was a full bottle of nice smelling shower/shampoo soap behind the shower screen. The hand drier blower was really weak, so it was quicker to take bathtowel in to dry hands. Toilet not separate. In same room. Shared facilities.
We could not get the TV to work. Turned out after going back downstairs to the pub proper to speak with the young lady that we needed to sign in following prompts to get access to TV channels and use our mobile phone to complete this. Even then it was not straightforward and we could not get all basic channels which limited our enjoyment of relaxing and resting and winding down after a long journey.
