Great value, great location, would book again

Fab location, comfy bed and large living room with fully stocked kitchen and great decor.

One towel had a stain and a few dirty dishes left in cupboard / oven

Perfect location but disappointed on the standard of the property as we paid a lot of money for 2 nights and don’t feel

Location was perfect, nice size of property

The bed was moved directly under the window so you heard all the noise and took away the nice look of the room how it used to be. It wasn’t very clean, took a cup out the cupboard and there was still tea in the cup. Bathroom wasn’t very clean and had a horrible smell also layers of dust which hadn’t been cleaned for a while

What a great location!

Location was amazing! Everything we did was not more than a 10 minute walk. The apartment was well equipped and we had the best sleep in the comfy bed & snuggly duvet.

I don't think there was anything we didn't like, it was a little cold to start with but it warmed up really quickly once we turned the radiators on then it was super toasty.

Fantastic location, great spacious apartment.

There is some noise at night due to deliveries to M and S, however this can’t be helped due to the location. Being so near everything was fantastic and worth the noise.

Cosy, well located home from home.

Spacious, well-furnished apartment with plenty of character. Equipped with quality appliances and everything you need for a self catering break.

There isn't much not to like about this property. Only thing I would say is that if you are disabled you may struggle with access as there is no lift. Apart from that, nothing to report.

A perfect apartment in the heart of York — clean, comfortable, and ideal for a city break.

We stayed in this apartment for a few nights in October and couldn’t have been happier. The location was brilliant — right in the centre of York and just a stone’s throw from everything you might need. The apartment itself was spacious, spotless, and had everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay. It was easy to find, check-in was straightforward, and we honestly couldn’t fault a thing. A lovely place that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting York. We parked at Sainsbury’s using a parking app, which was much cheaper than the car park suggested and only about a 10-minute walk away — well worth considering!

Second Visit

Our second stay here and definitely our preferred place to book when visiting York. We've stayed in a couple of other hotels and another apartment but this is our favourite. There's nothing to fault. Centrally located, comfortable bed/pillows, great shower, and a relaxing living area - perfect after a day exploring the city.

Would stay at this place every time we visit York

All 3 rooms comprising, lounge/kitchen, bedroom, bathroom were spacious with good quality furniture. Bed & pillows were very comfortable as were the lounge furniture Every item you could wish for was provided in a short/long stay apartment Historical, shopping, public transport all within moments walk of the property. The host, Chelsey was very helpful when we needed some advice.

Amazing location, straight across from Shambles and in the centre of the city! Not to mention the attention to detail in the styling and large space. We loved reading about the history of the building and that the owner has worked to preserve it!!

Charming Christmas mini break

A return visit to Rowntree One for us during Christmas Market season the week before Christmas. Returned due to the fantastic location in the heart of York. The apartment is aesthetically pleasing bringing in the old charm with the new, with all comforts taken care of and is a pleasure to return back to in the day for breaks between shopping and sightseeing. Set up perfectly for two and you wouldn’t be disappointed if the day was a raining washout forcing you to retreat back to the apartment.

This can’t be helped as such and is just our personal experience on the two nights we were there, however the M&S Lorries for both nights during our stay were disruptive, particularly with the bed by the window. Often a few at a time waiting to get to the loading bay, or unloading on the road made it particularly noisy. Given the time of year and location directly opposite one of the biggest UK retailers most popular at the time of year this isn’t surprising… Would it have made a difference if the bed head was not right against the window? I think it could help. We did sleep, the bed is comfortable and the room is lovely, just slightly disrupted a few times in the night. It hasn’t put us off returning, but probably not the week before Christmas next time!

Perfect Apartment

Beautiful, spacious apartment. Very clean with everything you need. Everything in the apartment was of high quality. Very comfortable bed. Fabulous location, around the corner from The Shambles. Chocolates and a card there when we arrived for my husband's birthday! Thank you Chelsey :)

It isn't a dislike, just a fact. You could hear the unloading of the lorries in the morning, but nothing major as the apartment has secondary glazing. It's to be expected being right in the centre of York.

beautiful decor, superb location & reasonable for the price.

windows aren’t double glazed so was a little noisy. we was woken up one night by people shouting on the streets at 3am but I think that may have just been a lively drunk bunch after a few to many drinks & the football game - can’t be helped, no fault of the apartment.
